  3. 18. Response of the PANDA electromagnetic calorimeter to photons with energies below 100 MeV

    Author : Klas Marcks von Würtemberg; Per-Erik Tegnér; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PANDA elecromagnetic calorimeter response PWO; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear Physics; kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Characteristics of the electromagnetic calorimeter of PANDA (anti-Proton ANnihilations at DArmstadt), one of the key experiments at FAIR, have been measured at the tagged photon beam facility at MAX-lab for 61 energies in the range 12-63 MeV. The tested detector array consisted of 5x5 PbWO4 (lead tungstate) crystals designed for the forward end-cap. READ MORE

  4. 19. Development and Test of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Digitizer

    Author : Jonas Lesser; Christian Bohm; Lorne Levinson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : The new LHC particle accelerator now being built at CERN will have a radically increased event rate and higher energy. To accommodate this, instrumentation for LHC experiments has had to be constructed using new ideas and the latest available technology. READ MORE

  5. 20. Reaction to fire performance of wood and other building products

    Author : Lazaros Tsantaridis; KTH; []
    Keywords : building products; charring of wood; cone calorimeter; fire retardant treated wood; fire tests; ignitability; mass loss; rate of heat release;

    Abstract : The theme of this thesis is the reaction to fire performanceof wood and other building products, andparticularly thematerial fire properties time to ignition, rate of heat releaseand smoke production. These properties have been measured by asmall-scale fire test method, the Cone Calorimeter, andpresented for different types of building products. READ MORE
