  1. 6. Nanomechanical Studies and Applications of Cantilever Sensors

    Author : Sara Ghatnekar-Nilsson; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik; Physics; resonating; mass sensor; Young s modulus; CMOS; cantilevers; electron beam lithography; liquid;

    Abstract : Different aspects of cantilevers to be used as sensors have been studied. Silicon cantilevers have been fabricated and integrated on CMOS chips using low-energy electron beam lithography in order to reduce the irradiation damage to the circuits. The released and integrated cantilevers have been tested and used as mass sensors in air. READ MORE

  2. 7. Almost-axial impact on elastic and viscoelastic cantilever columns

    Author : Lixing Ren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Almost-axial impact between a rigid body and a cantilever column is studied. A preliminary study of the contact process is presented for a flat-ended impacting body and a flat-ended elastic Timoshenko column with rectangular cross-section. The equations of motion pertaining to the column are solved using an explicit finite difference method. READ MORE

  3. 8. Surface interactions and adsorbate structures : An atomic force microscopy study

    Author : Goran Bogdanovic; KTH; []
    Keywords : atomic force microscope; AFM; cantilever calibration; colloidal probe; surface force; force curve; friciton; hydrophobic; adhesion; roughness; multilayer; silica; cellulose; cationic polyelectrolyte; MAPTAC;

    Abstract : Atomic force microscopy, AFM, was used for studying somecurrent topics in the field of surface and colloid science. Themain topics addressed in this thesis were: the nature of thelong-range attraction between hydrophobic surfaces; slidingfriction behavior for microscopic contacts; and interfacialstructuring of polyelectrolyte-nanoparticle multilayerfilms. 4. 9. Nanomechanics – Quantum Size Effects, Contacts, and Triboelectricity

    Author : Martin Olsen; Jonas Örtegren; Håkan Olin; Per Gradin; Peter Glans; Rusen Yang; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : triboelectricity; adatom; ion; charge; mound; quantum size effect; triboelctric nanogenerator; TENG; wind driven; contact; nanomechanics; fri electron model; nanowire cantilever;

    Abstract : Nanomechanics is different from the mechanics that we experience in everyday life. At the nano-scale, typically defined as 1 to 100 nanometers, some phenomena are of crucial importance, while the same phenomena can be completely neglected on a larger scale. READ MORE

  5. 10. Fabrication of cantilever chip with complementary micro channel system in SU-8 for biochemical detection

    Author : Maria Tenje; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the works on fabrication and measurements done with micro cantilevers and a micro channel system, fabricated in the photo-resist SU-8. SU-8 is a polymer patterned by UV lithography which offers a cheap and fast processing and is an interesting alternative to standard Si techniques. READ MORE
