1. Influence of thermal mass on the heating and cooling demands of a building unit
Abstract : The purpose of this work is to find to what extent the thermal properties of the building materials, the allowed indoor temperature swing, determined by the comfort interval, and, to some extent, the ventilation strategy can affect the heating and cooling demand of a building. It is well known that a thermally heavy building, that is a building with a high heat capacity, often demands less energy for heating and cooling and have a more stabile indoor temperature due to heat storage in the building structure. 2. Capacity Control of Residential Heat Pump Heating Systems
Abstract : Heat pumps used for space and sanitary hot water heating of residential buildings are increasingly popular in northern Europe. As they compete with other heating equipment and in order to limit the environmental impact of their use, it is very important that heat pumps are energy efficient. READ MORE

3. Testing large samples of PCM in water calorimeter and PCM used in room applications by night-air cooling
Abstract : The latent-heat-storage capacity in Phase-Change Materials can be used for storing or releasing energy within a small temperature interval. Upon the phase transition taking place in a narrow temperature span, the material takes up or releases more energy compared to sensible heat storage. READ MORE

4. Experimental Governance : Capacity and legitimacy in local governments
Abstract : Contemporary planning and governance of cities involves practices of experiments and trials in urban experiments, collaborative platforms, and urban development projects with high ambitions for sustainability and innovative solutions. These practices of experimental governance can be seen as new policy instruments that include actors from all sectors of society in collective problem-solving. READ MORE

5. Concrete flat slabs and footings : Design method for punching and detailing for ductility
Abstract : Simple but still realistic physical models suitable for structural design of flat concrete plates and column footings with respect to punching are presented. Punching of a flat plate is assumed to occur when the concrete compression strain at the column edge due to the bending moment in the slab reaches a critical value that is considerably lower than the generally accepted ultimate compression strain 0.
