  1. 21. Modeling, Control and Optimization of theTransient Torque Response in DownsizedTurbocharged Spark Ignited Engines

    Author : Oscar Flärdh; Håkan Hjalmarsson; Jonas Mårtensson; Per Tunestål; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engine modeling; Engine control; Transient torque response; Downsizing; Transient optimization;

    Abstract : Increasing demands for lower carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption drive technological developments for car manufacturers. One trend that has shown success for reducing fuel consumption in spark ignited engines is downsizing, where the engine size is reduced to save fuel and a turbocharger is added to maintain the power output. 2. 22. Development of a regeneration procedure for commercial automotive three-wy catalysts

    Author : Henrik Birgersson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; deactivation; fouling; sintering; poisoning; palladium; rhodium; regeneration; dispersion; thermal gas treatment; oxy-chlorine; TWC; automotive catalyst; Chemical process equipment; Kemisk apparatteknik;

    Abstract : Car exhaust catalysts were introduced in the early 1980’s, to limit the release of pollutants such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxides and nitrogen oxides. These catalysts contain noble metals such as palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt) and rhodium (Rh) and are able to simultaneously abate all three of the above-mentioned pollutants, hence the name three-way catalyst (TWC). 4. 24. Probing Atomic Scale Structure and Catalytic Properties of Cobalt Oxide Model Catalysts

    Author : Alif Arman; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : catalysis; model systems; Co3O4 111 ; Co3O4 100 ; CoO 111 ; X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; Scanning tunneling microscopy; Fysicumarkivet A:2017:Arman;

    Abstract : Cobalt oxides are known to be active catalysts for a number of chemical reactions, but very little is known about the atomic scale processesresponsible for the activity. The research presented in this thesis is focused on obtaining an atomic scale understanding of the chemistry of wellcharacterizedcobalt oxide model catalyst surfaces consisting of pristine and defective CoO and Co3O4 thin films with the (111) and (100)terminations supported by Ag(100), Ir(100), and Au(111) single crystal surfaces. 5. 25. Numerical Investigation of Radial Turbines Subject to Pulsating Flow

    Author : Roberto Mosca; Mihai Mihaescu; José Ramón Serrano; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknisk mekanik; Engineering Mechanics;

    Abstract : In the optic of a more sustainable society, research and development of highly efficient fluid machines represent a fundamental process to satisfy the rapidly growing energy needs of the modern world. Radial turbines are characterized by higher efficiencies for a larger range of inflow conditions compared to axial turbines. READ MORE
