1. Target-driven road vehicle suspension design
Abstract : This thesis is focused on suspension hardpoint and bushing compliance design with new reverse engineering methods that are based on kinematics and compliance constraints. The kinematic reverse design method is implemented into a conceptual front axle development. The results show that, using this method, the design lead time is reduced by half. READ MORE

2. Towards Active Car Body Suspension in Railway Vehicles
Abstract : Today, most railway suspension systems are passive. The most wide-spread exception isactive car body tilt systems, which are mounted in some high-speed trains. Replacingsome of the passive suspension components with active could reduce the weight and costof the vehicle. READ MORE

3. Vehicle Disc Brake Roughness Noise : Experimental Study of the Interior Noise andVibro-Acoustic Modelling of Suspension Systems
Abstract : Prediction of vehicle disc brake roughness noise is a non-trivial challenge. In fact, neither the source mechanisms, nor the transfer paths are so far well understood. READ MORE

4. Active Lateral Secondary Suspension in a High-Speed Train to Improve Ride Comfort
Abstract : Active secondary suspension in trains has been studied for a number of years, showing promising improvements in ride comfort. However, due to relatively high implementation and maintenance costs, active technology is not being used in service operation to a large extent. READ MORE

5. On Active Secondary Suspension in Rail Vehicles to Improve Ride Comfort
Abstract : One way to make rail vehicles a competitive means of transportation is to increase running speed. However, higher speeds usually generate increased forces and accelerations on the vehicle, which have a negative effect on ride comfort. With conventional passive suspension, it may be difficult to maintain acceptable passenger comfort. READ MORE
