  1. 11. Carbon nanotubes in nanomedicine

    Author : Ramy El-Sayed; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The development of nanomedicine is based primarily on the development of smart and multifunctional nanomaterials that can serve under the different clusters including drug delivery systems, diagnostics, and regenerative medicine. Recently, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have received enormous attention due to their extraordinary properties. READ MORE

  2. 12. Nanoelectromechanical systems from carbon nanotubes and graphene

    Author : Niklas Lindahl; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon nanotubes; graphene; nanoelectromechanical systems; fabrication; fabrication;

    Abstract : Carbon nanotubes and graphene have many interesting properties. To exploit the properties in applications their synthesis and incorporation in devices has to be understood and controlled. This thesis is based on experimental studies on synthesis of carbon nanotubes and fabrication of nanoelectromechanical systems from carbon nanotubes and graphene. READ MORE

  4. 14. Carbon-based magnetic nanomaterials

    Author : Valeria Zagaynova; Tatiana Makarova; Mauro Ricco; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon nanotube; fullerene; single molecular magnet; Mn12; graphite fluoride; nanoporous carbon; molecular magnetism; magnetic properties; SQUID magnetometry; x-ray diffraction; Raman spectroscopy; Materials Science; materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Magnetism of carbon-based materials is a challenging area for both fundamental research and possible applications. We present studies of low-dimensional carbon-based magnetic systems (fullerene-diluted molecular magnets, carbon nanotubes, graphite fluoride, and nanoporous carbon) by means of SQUID magnetometer, X-ray diffraction and vibrational spectroscopy, the latter techniques used as complementary instruments to find a correlation between the magnetic behaviour and the structure of the samples. 5. 15. Carbon nanotube/MF composites

    Author : Liliana Licea Jimenez; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nanocomposites; carbon nanotubes; melamine-formaldehyde;

    Abstract : A new generation of composites, frequently referred to as nanocomposites, are making research and engineering impact worldwide. Particularly, the incorporation of carbon nanotubes (CNT) into polymers is attractive, due to the generally good processability of polymers and the unprecedented properties of nanotubes. READ MORE
