    Author : Sara Roslin; Mats Larhed; Gunnar Antoni; Jonas Eriksson; Luke Odell; Victor Pike; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbonylation; palladium; carbon-11; radiochemistry; positron emission tomography; vesicular acetylcholine transporter; vesamicol; alkyl halide; oxidative carbonylation; acylamidine; oxadiazole; heterocycle; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Abstract : The work presented herein describes the utilization and exploration of palladium-mediated incorporations of carbon monoxide and/or [11C]carbon monoxide into compounds and structural motifs with biological relevance.The first part of the thesis describes the design, synthesis and 11C-labeling of prospective PET tracers for the vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VAChT), a target affected in several neurodegenerative diseases. 2. 2. Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Spirocyclization and Carbonylation Reactions : Ligands Targeting the Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor

    Author : Jens Lindman; Mats Larhed; Johan Gising; Christian Sköld; Alessandra Tolomelli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Palladium catalysis; Mizoroki-Heck reaction; spiroindolines; spirooxindoles; amino acids; carbonylation; angiotensin II type 2 receptor; AT2R ligands; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : Palladium(0)-catalyzed chemistry represents one of the most important methods for the construction of carbon-carbon bonds, which are ubiquitous in organic compounds. The first part of this thesis describes the palladium(0)-catalyzed diastereoselective Mizoroki-Heck reaction of Vince lactam-derived precursors for the formation of spiroindolines (paper I) and spirooxindoles, which are scaffolds present in several natural products with interesting biological activity. 3. 3. Palladium-Catalyzed Carbonylation and Arylation Reactions

    Author : Jonas Sävmarker; Mats Larhed; Gary Molander; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; palladium; carbonylation; styrene; amidine; aryl ketones; aryl sulfinates; ESI-MS; aryltrifluoroborates; Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Organisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Palladium-catalyzed reactions have found widespread use in contemporary organic chemistry due to their impressive range of functional group tolerance and high chemo- and regioselectivity. The pioneering contributions to the development of the Pd-catalyzed C-C bond forming cross-coupling reaction were rewarded with the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2010. READ MORE

  4. 4. Photoinitiated Radical Carbonylation Using [11C]Carbon Monoxide : 11C-Labelling of Aliphatic Carboxylic Acids, Esters, and Amides

    Author : Oleksiy Itsenko; Bengt Långström; Tor Kihlberg; Chryssostomos Chatgilialoglu; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : One-step photoinitiated free radical carbonylation was employed for the rapid (5–7 min) labelling of aliphatic carboxylic acids, esters, and amides with a short-lived positron emitter 11C (t½ = 20.3 min) at the carbonyl position. The labelled compounds were synthesized from alkyl iodides (0.05–0. READ MORE

  5. 5. [11C]Carbon Monoxide in Rhodium-/Palladium-Mediated Carbonylation Reactions

    Author : Julien Barletta; Bengt Långström; Yu-Shin Ding; Uppsala universitet; []
