  1. 1. Investigations of the Kinetics of Reduction and Reduction/Carburization of NiO-WO3 Precursors

    Author : Hesham M. Ahmed; Seshadri Seetharaman; Ricardo Morales Estrella; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reduction; Reduction-Carburization; Gas-solid Reactions; Kinetics; Hydrogen; Methane; Thermogravimetric analysis; Fluidized bed; Simulation; Thermal diffusivity; Thermal conductivity; Laser flash; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik; Process Metallurgy;

    Abstract : Kinetic studies of reduction of the mixtures of NiO and WO3 having different Ni/(Ni+W) molar ratios in flowing hydrogen gas were investigated by means of Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Fluidized Bed (FB) technique as well as Thermal diffusivity measurements under isothermal conditions. In the case of TGA, the reaction progress was monitored by mass loss, while evolved gas analysis by a gas chromatograph was the indicator of the reaction progress in the case of FB. READ MORE

  2. 2. Modelling of reactive gas transport

    Author : Erik Sundelöf; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : A rather general microscopic model for reactive gastransport in porous media is developed and applied to twodifferent processes in powder metal technology: carburization,and reduction of surface oxides.The carburization model is developed from the kinetic modelproposed by Grabke and applied to a 2-D porous geometryobtained from images. 3. 3. Processing of Nanostructured WC-Co Powders and Sintered Steels

    Author : Zongyin Zhang; KTH; []
    Keywords : Nanostructured powder; Chemical synthesis; Fe-Mn-Si steel; Fe-Cu swelling; Mechanical properties; Sintering parameters;

    Abstract : Processing of nanostructured WC-Co and W-Co powders,modelling of Fe-Mn-Si alloy, swelling of Fe-Cu alloy, andmechanical properties and sintering of Fe-Mn-Si steels havebeen studied in the present thesis.W-Co precursors made by chemical synthesis were used toproduce nanostructured WCCo and W-Co powders by calcination,reduction and carburization.
