  1. 1. Colloidal carrier substances : Properties and impact on trace metal distribution in natural waters

    Author : Anna Ledin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Abstract : Colloidal (0,45 J.Im) are important constituents in the aquatic environment, due to their impact on the mobility and bioavailability of associated components (e.g. metals). READ MORE

  2. 2. Hot-carrier extraction in nanowires

    Author : Jonatan Fast; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanowire; Hot carrier; photovoltaic; Thermoelectric; Fysicumarkivet A:2023:Fast;

    Abstract : A hot-carrier solar cell aims to generate power from energetic, photoexcited, charge carriers, so called hot carriers, in order to reach higher conversion efficiencies than current solar cell technology.Creating a hot-carrier solar cell has proven challenging for two main reasons: hot carriers lose their energy very quickly, and they need to be extracted over distances of a few hundrednanometers via energy selective filters. 3. 3. Spatiotemporal carrier dynamics in graphene

    Author : Roland Jago; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spatiotemporal dynamics; density matrix formalism; graphene; relaxation dynamics; carrier multiplication; Bloch equations; photoconduction effect; bolometric effect;

    Abstract : Graphene as an atomically thin material exhibits remarkable optical and electronic properties that suggest its technological application in novel optoelectronic devices, such as graphene-based photodetectors and lasers. To understand the properties of such devices on a microscopic level, we study the interplay of optical excitation, carrier-carrier, carrier-phonon, and carrierphoton scattering as well as diffusion processes. 4. 4. Steel converter slag as an oxygen carrier

    Author : Fredrik Hildor; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Steel converter slag; Biomass; Oxygen carrier; LD slag; Oxygen carrier aided combustion; Chemical looping;

    Abstract : Thermal conversion of fuels can be used to produce heat and power in addition to chemicals. In order to be aligned with climate targets, it is necessary that such systems do not emit carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) can be used together with fuel conversion systems to prevent CO2 from entering the atmosphere. READ MORE

  5. 5. Impact of carrier localization on recombination in InGaN quantum wells with nonbasal crystallographic orientations

    Author : Ruslan Ivanov; Saulius Marcinkevičius; Nicolas Grandjean; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; InGaN; quantum well; semipolar; nonpolar; near-field microscopy; carrier localization; carrier transport; optical polarization; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The modern InGaN technology demonstrates high efficiencies only in the blue spectral region and low current operation modes. The growth of InGaN quantum wells (QWs) on nonbasal crystallographic planes (NBP) has potential to deliver high-power blue and green light emitting diodes and lasers. READ MORE
