1. Optimization product parts in high pressure die casting process
Abstract : This thesis describes optimization of die temperature in high pressure die-casting (HPDC) of A380 alloy by experimental observation and numerical simulation with the use of statistical tools. The goal of this research is to determine the optimum die temperature to minimize incidence of these defects and thus maximize production of parts without defects. READ MORE

2. Thermal cracking of young concrete : partial coefficients, restraint effects and influence of casting joints
Abstract : Cracks can occur due to temperature induced movements during the hardening phase of concrete. Thermal cracks are not decisive for the load-bearing capacity but cause costs for repair and may reduce the life of the structure. The risk of cracking can be judged through safety values, (partial coefficients) given in building codes. READ MORE

3. Gene : on the origin, function and development of sedentary Iron Age settlement in northern Sweden
Abstract : This thesis deals with questions concerning the sedentary settlement in central Norrland: its origins, function and development. This type of settlement appears at the start of our calendar. The material comprises an almost fully excavated farmstead from the Early Iron Age (1-600 A.D. READ MORE

4. Densities and viscosities of slags : modeling and experimental investigations
Abstract : The present dissertation describes part of the efforts directed towards the development of computational tools to support process modeling. This work is also a further development of the Thermoslag software developed in the Division of Materials Process Science, KTH. READ MORE

5. Rheocasting of Aluminium Alloys : Slurry Formation, Microstructure, and Properties
Abstract : Innovative materials with novel properties are in great demand for use in the criticalcomponents of emerging technologies, which promise to be more cost-effective and energyefficient.A controversial issue with regard to manufacturing complex industrial products isto develop advanced materials with optimised manufacturability in addition to the requiredmechanical and physical properties.
