  1. 21. Flow Maldistribution in Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems - Numerical Simulations

    Author : Pratheeba Chanda Nagarajan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Catalyst; Flow maldistribution; Transient; CFD Simulations; Reactive flows; Uniformity Index; Exhaust AfterTreatment Systems;

    Abstract : To comply with the stringent emission norms under every driving condition, including the coldstart conditions and Real Driving Emissions (RDE) tests, accurate models that capture the spatial and temporal variation of flow distribution information in Exhaust AfterTreatment Systems (EATS) are required. This study is aimed at characterizing and quantifying flow distribution in EATS under transient conditions with realistic geometry that illustrates the complex nature of the flow conditions. 2. 22. Artificial Water Splitting: Ruthenium Complexes for Water Oxidation

    Author : Lele Duan; Licheng Sun; Matthias Beller; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; water oxidation; ruthenium; electrochemistry; DFT calculation; photoelectrochemistry; negatively charged ligand; catalyst;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the development and study of Ru-based water oxidation catalysts (WOCs) which are the essential components for solar energy conversion to fuels. The first chapter gives a general introduction about the field of homogenous water oxidation catalysis, including the catalytic mechanisms and the catalytic activities of some selected WOCs as well as the concerns of catalyst design. 3. 23. Novel bioinspired and biohybrid electrode materials for hydrogen production

    Author : Afridi Zamader; Gustav Berggren; Vincent Artero; Marc Robert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Device; H2; [FeFe] hydrogenases; inspiration; catalyst; multiwalled carbon nanotubes; life cycle assesments; semisynthetic hydrogenases; Kemi; Chemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis was accomplished under the scope of eSCALED project administrated by EU MSCA horizon 2020 program, which aimed to develop a device called “artificial leaf” responsible for generating fuels or liquid chemicals (H2 production or CO2 reduction) using solar electrolysis. My objective was to develop a noble metal free, efficient cathode materials for H2 production for the device which yield this thesis. READ MORE

  4. 24. Electrocatalyst materials for low-temperature hydrogen fuel cells

    Author : Gerard Montserrat Siso; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Catalyst; Alloys.; Oxygen Reduction; Nanofabrication; Electrode; Fuel Cell; PEMFC; Hydrogen Oxidation; Model System; Thin Film; AEMFC;

    Abstract : Fuel cells have emerged as an alternative to satisfy the need of energy systems with net-zero emissions. Although fuel cells date back to the 1800s, it is only during the last decades that research and development has enabled true commercialization. READ MORE

  5. 25. Multiscale methods for the fundamental understanding of diesel soot mitigation

    Author : Carl Justin Kamp; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nanofabrication; Catalyst; Soot; Aftertreatment; Carbon; Particulate Matter; Oxidation; Ash; Diesel Particulate Filter;

    Abstract : Current regulations for diesel exhaust emissions cannot be met by engine improvements alone, and for this reason the diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a widely used aftertreatment component for the control of diesel particulate matter (PM). The DPF functions by trapping PM and destroying it by oxidation. READ MORE
