  1. 21. Towards Behavioral Model Fault Isolation for Object Oriented Control Systems

    Author : Dan Lawesson; Ulf Nilsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Unified Modeling Language UML ; Maskinelement Servomekanismer Automation; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : We use a system model expressed in a subset of the Unified Modeling Language to perform fault isolation in large object oriented control systems. Due to the severity of the failures considered and the safety critical nature of the system we cannot perform fault isolation online. READ MORE

  2. 22. Optimization and Physical Bounds for Passive and Non-passive Systems

    Author : Yevhen Ivanenko; Sven Nordebo; Börje Nilsson; Mats Gustafsson; Mariana Dalarsson; Aaron Welters; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Convex optimization; physical bounds; Herglotz functions; quasi-Herglotz functions; passive systems; non-passive systems; approximation; absorption in lossy media; Waves; Signals and Systems; Vågor; signaler och system;

    Abstract : Physical bounds in electromagnetic field theory have been of interest for more than a decade. Considering electromagnetic structures from the system theory perspective, as systems satisfying linearity, time-invariance, causality and passivity, it is possible to characterize their transfer functions via Herglotz functions. 3. 23. Reverse Engineering of Legacy Real-Time Systems : An Automated Approach Based on Execution-Time Recording

    Author : Joel Huselius; Hans Hansson; Henrik Thane; Antonia Bertolino; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Many real-time systems have significant value in terms of legacy, since large efforts have been spent over many years to ensure their proper functionality. Examples can be found in, e.g., telecom and automation-industries. READ MORE

  4. 24. Essays on Inequality, Insolvency and Innovation

    Author : Paula Roth; Erik Lindqvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Inequality; Relative Deprivation; Consumption; Household Debt; Risk-sharing; Social Comparison; Status; Conspicuous Consumption; Innovation; Occupational Choice; Insolvency; Entrepreneurship; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : First Impressions Last – Does Inequality Increase Status Consumption and Household Debt? (with Elin Molin): Recent decades have seen an increase in income inequality and household debt-to-GDP ratios in many countries, and several studies have suggested that higher income inequality spurs borrowing among nonrich households through their preference to "Keep up with the Joneses". In this paper, we show that standard Keeping up with the Joneses utility functions cannot generate this relationship unless one imposes the implausible assumption that the rich are more impatient than the nonrich. 5. 25. Dispersion relations for extinction of acoustic and electromagnetic waves

    Author : Christian Sohl; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with physical limitations on scattering and absorption of acoustic and electromagnetic waves. A general dispersion relation for the extinction cross section of such waves is derived from the holomorphic properties of the scattering amplitude in the forward direction. READ MORE
