1. The osteogenic potential of human mesenchymal stem cells: Novel markers and key factors for differentiation
Abstract : Mesenchymal stem cells are multipotent stem cells with ability to differentiate into cells of the connective tissue lineage, such as adipocytes, osteoblasts and chondrocytes, both in vitro and in vivo. The main objective of the present thesis was to study different aspects of the osteogenic potential of MSCs. READ MORE

2. Serological markers in subclinical and clinical gluten enteropathy
Abstract : An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has been developed for the measurement of anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA), thereby providing a practical and cheap assay for use in the diagnosis of coeliac disease (CD). Since gliadin is a common food antigen for most people, a large group of apparently healthy blood donors (n=l866) was analysed, as well as children and adults with symptoms more or less suggesting CD. 3. Immunological markers and clinical characteristics of pulmonary inflammation
Abstract : Interstitial lung diseases (ILD) includes a broad spectrum of disorders affecting the lung parenchyma. Common to these conditions is the exacerbated pulmonary immunological response leading to inflammation, disordered tissue healing, and, in a proportion of patients, chronic pulmonary fibrosis. These foods have a central position in the traditional Cretan Mediterranean diet, and it has been suggested that dietary factors contribute to the low prevalence of RA in Mediterranean countries. 5. Serologic Markers in Screening for Coeliac Disease, Clinical significance and immunogenetic basis
Abstract : The prevalence of coeliac disease (CD) was initially estimated to 1/1537. Based on serial analysis [GA and endomysial antibodies (EMA)], the prevalence was 6/1970 (0.30%). In autoimmune chronic hepatitis 5. READ MORE
