  1. 1. Enhancing Tropospheric Humidity Data Records from Satellite Microwave and Radiosonde Sensors

    Author : Isaac Moradi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CDR; climate; microwave; radiosonde; water vapor; remote sensing; antenna; homogenization; humidity; meteorology; troposphere; radio-frequency;

    Abstract : Water vapor is the most dominant greenhouse gas and plays a critical role in the climate by regulating the Earth's radiation budget and hydrological cycle. A comprehensive dataset is required to describe the temporal and spatial distribution of water vapor, evaluate the performance of climate and weather prediction models in terms of simulating tropospheric humidity, and understand the role of water vapor and its feedback in the climate system. 2. 2. Generation and evolution of human antibody fragments - The CDR shuffling approach

    Author : Pernilla Jirholt; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transplantation; serology; Immunology; Biokemisk teknik; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biochemical technology; Metabolism; Immunologi; serologi;

    Abstract : Antibodies are important proteins participating in a number of reactions to protect us from harmful diseases. Apart from this important function, they are also useful in different technical and medical applications. This, however, relies on our possibility to produce antibodies in vitro. READ MORE

  3. 3. Promises and Pitfalls of Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage : Actors' Perspectives, Challenges, and Mitigation Deterrence in Sweden

    Author : Emily Rodriguez; Anders Hansson; Simon Haikola; Stefan Grönkvist; Nils Markusson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage BECCS ; Negative emission technologies NETs ; Carbon dioxide removal CDR ; Sustainability transitions; Mitigation deterrence; Sweden; Bioenergi med koldioxidavskiljning och lagring bio-CCS ; Negativa utsläpp; Koldioxidinfångningsmetoder; Energiomställningen; Mitigation deterrence; Sverige;

    Abstract : Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) methods, such as bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), have gained traction in international climate policy arenas to meet net-zero goals. Even though companies operating facilities with large point sources of biogenic emissions, such as pulp and paper industries and energy utilities, could implement carbon capture, there are few studies that take a bottomup perspective to study these key actors. 4. 4. Modeling the Potential for Carbon Removal in Agriculture: Integrating Farmer Perspectives

    Author : Andreas Rehn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Crop Rotation; Climate Change Mitigation; Carbon Dioxide Removal CDR Agricultural Practices; Stakeholder participation; Perennial Ley Crops; Biochar; Soil Organic Carbon SOC ; Landscape Modeling;

    Abstract : The overarching aim of this thesis is to provide insights into the dynamic processes governing SOC stocks and to identify viable paths for agricultural systems to contribute to climate change mitigation. By integrating current scientific knowledge of carbon sequestration in agriculture with feasible agricultural applications, this work proposes local realistic strategies for enhancing soil organic carbon (SOC) and presents a quantitative assessment of their potential for CO2 removal. 5. 5. Assessing Carbon Dioxide Removal methods amid uncertainty : soil carbon sequestration, biochar and harvested wood products as methods for climate change mitigation

    Author : Alexander Olsson; Stefan Grönkvist; Mathias Fridahl; Anders Hansson; Lowe Börjeson; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Carbon Dioxide Removal CDR ; Negative Emissions Technologies NETs ; Soil Organic Carbon; Biochar; Harvested Wood Products HWP ; Socio-technical systems; Strategic Niche Management SNM ; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Measures to sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) away from the atmosphere have become increasingly important in the discussion of which methods humans can employ to limit global warming. These measures, which are broad and varied, fall under the umbrella of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) methods. READ MORE
