  1. 1. Defects and Impurities in CdTe : An ab Initio Study

    Author : Anna Lindström; Mattias Klintenerg; Susanne Mirbt; Biplab Sanyal; Peter Zahn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Native defects; Compensation mechanisms; Semiconductor doping; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis defects and impurities in CdTe have been studied with ab initio methods. CdTe is a II-VI semiconductor with many important applications such as γ- and X-ray detectors, solar cells and medical imaging. READ MORE

  2. 2. Development of methods for in situ measurements of radioactivity in the enviroment

    Author : Johan Kastlander; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; In situ gamma ray spectrometry; CdTe; HPGe; Low energy physics; Lågenergifysik;

    Abstract : In case of a release of radioactive nuclides into the environment it is necessary to have reliable methods to estimate the potential effect on population and ecosystem. In this context the total activity deposited, the elemental composition and its depth distribution are of importance. READ MORE

  3. 3. Photochemical and Photoelectric Applications of II-VI Semiconductor Nanomaterials

    Author : Abhilash Sugunan; Mamoun Muhammed; Lars Kloo; KTH; []
    Keywords : ZnO; Nanowire arrays; Photocatalysis; Nanofibers; CdTe; Nanotetrapods; Ostwalds ripening; Photoconduction; Nano-gap electrodes;

    Abstract : In this work we investigated fabrication of semiconductor nanomaterials and evaluated their potential for photo-chemical and photovoltaic applications. We investigated two different II-VI semiconductor nanomaterial systems; (i) ZnO oriented nanowire arrays non-epitaxially grown from a substrate; and (ii) colloidal CdTe nanotetrapods synthesized by solution-based thermal decomposition of organo-metallic precursors. 4. 4. In situ measurements of radionuclide concentration in soil : An investigation into detector properties and methods

    Author : Johan Kastlander; Christoph Bargholtz; Mats Isaksson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : In situ gamma-ray spectrometry; LaBr3; CdTe; Cs-137; soil samples; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : In case of a release of radioactive nuclides into the environment it is necessary to  have reliable methods to estimate the potential effect on people and the ecosystem. In this context the total activity deposited, the elemental composition and the depth distribution are of importance. READ MORE

  5. 5. Electronic Structure of Some Zincblende Semiconductor Surfaces
