  1. 6. Identification of Unique Hematopoietic Stem Cell Properties

    Author : Jens Nygren; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor; Haematology; extracellular fluids; cell cycle; fusion; transdifferentiation; plasticity; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; quiescence; hematopoietic stem cell; self-renewal;

    Abstract : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are sufficient and required for life long production of all blood cell lineages. Steady state HSCs are largely quiescent and we demonstrate that the kinetics of HSC cell cycling are slower compared to more committed progenitor cells also during expansion and self-renewal ex vivo and in physiological conditions. 2. 7. Caulobacter crescentus folding machines at the interface of inheritance, cell division, and energy metabolism

    Author : Kristen Schroeder; Kristina Jonas; Pierre Genevaux; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chaperones; DnaK; chaperonin; GroESL; protein quality control; protein folding; stress response; cellular aging; cell division; bacterial respiration; Caulobacter crescentus; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Abstract : All living cells must perform essential biological processes while monitoring and responding to environmental cues. Bacteria are accessible experimental systems in which to study the function of conserved central processes. READ MORE

  3. 8. Spatiotemporal characterization of the human proteome

    Author : Diana Mahdessian; Emma Lundberg; Arne Lindqvist; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spatial proteomics; Spatiotemporal proteomics; Immunofluorescence; Human Protein Atlas; Cell compartments; Single cell proteomics; Cell cycle; Cancer;

    Abstract : Characterizing the molecular components of the basic unit of life; the cell, is crucial for a complete understanding of human biology. The cell is divided into compartments to create a suitable environment for the resident proteins to fulfill their functions. READ MORE

  4. 9. Regulatory programs controlling profileration during Drosophila nervous system development

    Author : Erika Gunnar; Stefan Thor; Jan-Ingvar Jönsson; Udo Häcker; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The central nervous system (CNS) is the most complex organ in the body, responsible for complex functions, including thinking, reasoning and memory. The CNS contains cells of many different types, often generated in vast numbers. READ MORE

  5. 10. Cell cycle regulation in cancer: A noncoding perspective

    Author : Mohamad Ali; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Long Noncoding RNA; lncRNA; Cell cycle; S phase; Mitosis; Checkpoint; Cancer; SCAT7; LY6K-AS;

    Abstract : The cell cycle progression is tightly regulated to ensure error-free cell replication. The complexity of the transcriptional machinery aids to function in a spatiotemporal pattern across different phases and genomic loci. READ MORE
