  1. 16. Study of ergodicity of p-adic dynamical systems with the aid of van der Put basis

    Author : Ekaterina Yurova; Andrei Khrennikov; Valery Maksimov; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; p-adic numbers; van der Put basis; 1-Lipschitz; measure-preserving; ergodicity; sphere; T-function; Tillämpad matematik; Applied Mathematics;

    Abstract : The study of p-adic dynamical systems is motivated by their applications in various (and surprisingly diverse) areas of mathematics, e.g., in physics, genetics, biology, cognitive science, neurophysiology, computer science, cryptology, etc. READ MORE

  2. 17. Low-Density Lipoprotein Oxidation and Renal Dysfunction : New Markers of Poor Prognosis in Patients with Unstable Coronary Artery Disease

    Author : Nina Johnston; Lars Wallentin; Tomas Jernberg; Agneta Siegbahn; Lena Jonasson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; myocardial infarction; unstable angina; oxidized low-density lipoprotein; renal function; prognosis; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Abstract : In patients with unstable coronary artery disease (CAD) biochemical markers are emerging as useful tools in clinical management. In this thesis we studied the use of markers of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation and renal function. READ MORE

  3. 18. Computational Tools for Antenna Analysis and Design

    Author : Doruk Tayli; Teoretisk elektroteknik; []
    Keywords : Antenna theory; Fundamental bounds; method of moments MoM ; Characteristic modes; macro basis functions MBFs ; adaptive cross approximation ACA ; endfire arrays;

    Abstract : Many engineers and scientists prevalently use computational tools in electromagnetics, which is also the predominant case for antennas. The ever-increasing number of applications and technologies that employ antennas create a constant demand to improve and extend existing tools and develop new ones. READ MORE

  4. 19. Measurements and Prediction of Friction Drag of Rough Surfaces

    Author : Bercelay Niebles Atencio; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PIV; RANS; Turbulent Boundary Layers; Flat Plate; Resolved CFD; Hydrodynamics; Roughness Function; Wall Functions; Rotating Disk;

    Abstract : Owing to the increased sea transportation of goods, the environmental impacts of this activity are becoming more and more important, since a ship experiences resistance that directly affects its performance and fuel consumption. The growth of marine organisms (fouling) on ship hulls increases the roughness of the hull surface, which in turn causes a rise in ship resistance with a consequent increase in fuel consumption and greenhouse emissions of up to 40%. 5. 20. Lefschetz properties and Jordan types of Artinian algebras

    Author : Nasrin Altafi; Mats Boij; Martina Juhnke-Kubitzke; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lefschetz properties; Jordan type; Hilbert function; Artinian algebra; Gorenstein algebra; Hessian;

    Abstract : This thesis contains six papers concerned with studying the Lefschetz properties and Jordan types of linear forms for graded Artinian algebras. Lefschetz properties and Jordan types carry information about the ranks of multiplication maps by linear forms on graded Artinian algebras. READ MORE
