  1. 1. A fixed-lag smoother for solving joint input and state estimation problems in structural dynamics

    Author : Ulrika Lagerblad; Artem Kulachenko; Thomas Abrahamsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Joint input-state estimation; Fixed-lag smoother; Structural dynamics; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : In this thesis we have investigated different numerical filters for joint input and state estimation, with the aim of designing a robust algorithm capable of monitoring the continuous motion and loading in a truck chassis. The algorithm has to be able to use sparse measurements of the motion on different parts of the truck as it is excited by road induced vibrations, and transform this data into knowledge of the state in the entire system. 2. 2. Controlling over-actuated road vehicles during failure conditions

    Author : Daniel Wanner; Annika Stensson Trigell; Lars Drugge; Mats Jonasson; Jochen Rauh; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vehicle dynamics; vehicle safety; driver-vehicle interaction; failure analysis; wheel hub motor failure; over-actuation; fault-tolerant control; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : The aim of electrification of chassis and driveline systems in road vehicles is to reduce the global emissions and their impact on the environment. The electrification of such systems in vehicles is enabling a whole new set of functionalities improving safety, handling and comfort for the user. READ MORE

  3. 3. Aspects of autonomous corner modules as an enabler for new vehicle chassis solutions

    Author : Mats Jonasson; Annika Stensson Trigell; Mathias Lidberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis adopts a novel approach to propelling and controlling the dynamics of a vehicle by using autonomous corner modules (ACM). This configuration is characterised by vehicle controlled functions and distributed actuation and offers active and individual control of steering, camber, propulsion/braking and vertical load. 4. 4. Modeling and Optimization for Critical Vehicle Maneuvers

    Author : Kristoffer Lundahl; Lars Nielsen; Mathias Lidberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : As development in sensor technology, situation awareness systems, and computational hardware for vehicle systems progress, an opportunity for more advanced and sophisticated vehicle safety-systems arises. With the increased level of available information---such as position on the road, road curvature and knowledge about surrounding obstacles---future systems could be seen utilizing more advanced controls, exploiting at-the-limit behavior of the vehicle. 5. 5. Topics in Modeling, Control, and Implementation in Automotive Systems

    Author : Magnus Gäfvert; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reglerteknik; Automation; robotics; robotteknik; Automatiska system; control engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis treats different aspects of automotive control-systems and consists of four papers covering different areas in this large field. The first paper presents a 9-degrees-of-freedom dynamic model of a tractor-semitrailer vehicle, aimed at simulation and evaluation of active chassis-systems for stability enhancements. READ MORE
