  1. 1. Facilitating electron transfer in bioelectrocatalytic systems

    Author : Alina Sekretaryova; Mats Eriksson; Mikhail Vagin; Anthony Turner; Evgeny Katz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Bioelectrocatalytic systems are based on biological entities, such as enzymes, whole cells, parts of cells or tissues, which catalyse electrochemical processes that involve the interaction between chemical change and electrical energy. In all cases, biocatalysis is implemented by enzymes, isolated or residing inside cells or part of cells. READ MORE

  2. 2. Physico-chemical characteristics and quantitative structure-activity relationships of PCBs

    Author : Patrik Andersson; Stephen Safe; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polychlorinated biphenyls; PCBs; physico-chemical properties; statistical design; multivariate; PCA; PLS; biomagnification; BMF; bioassay; CYP1A; SAR; QSAR; REPs; risk assessment; Chemistry; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : The polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) comprise a group of 209 congeners varying in the number of chlorine atoms and substitution patterns. These compounds tend to be biomagnified in foodwebs and have been shown to induce an array of effects in exposed organisms. READ MORE

  3. 3. Synthesis and Photochemical Characterisation of Photoactive Compounds for Molecular Electronics

    Author : Behabitu Ergette Tebikachew; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photoswitch; norbornadiene; photocleavable protection; Molecular electronics;

    Abstract : In this modern age of technology, communication is highly reliant on computing devices such as mobile phones and computers. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IoT) as well as the widespread use of user-generated contents (UGC) are demanding more computing power and large data storage. 4. 4. Chemical risk information in product chains: The cases of paint and textile

    Author : Kristin Fransson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; supply chains; paint; textile; Chemical risk information; product chains; REACH;

    Abstract : Chemicals are present in or have been used for production of a large number of products available for private consumers. There are many benefits and useful applications of chemicals, but risks and negative side-effects shall not be overlooked. READ MORE

  5. 5. Studies on oligodeoxyribonucleotide (DNA) chemistry

    Author : Neil Balgobin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This communication discusses some of the more common problems encountered in the chemical synthesis of oligodeoxyribonucleotides. Several new protecting groups are introduced, such as the 2-phenylsulphonylethyl and the fluoren-9-methyl, for terminal phosphodiester protection, during the block synthesis of oligodeoxyribonucleotides, following the Catlin-Cramer approach.
