  1. 1. Studies on Rechargeable Fe-air electrodes in Alkaline electrolyte

    Author : Alagar Raj Paulraj; Yohannes Kiros; Carlos Ponce de León Albarrán; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fe-air battery; Cu Sn-doped nanostructured iron electrodes; Alkaline electrolytes; Bi-functional OER ORR catalyst; perovskite spinel catalyst; NiFeOx; air electrode; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Energy storage system is an important component in the energy system based on variable renewable energy sources into the grid. Energy storage system could contribute to decarbonization, energy security, offset the demand and supply of the electricity sector, especially for the electric grid. READ MORE

  2. 2. Improved Usage of Wood Raw Material through Modification of the Kraft Process

    Author : Daniel Tavast; Elisabet Brännvall; Mikael Lindström; Martin Lawoko; Kerstin Forsberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; kraft process; impregnation; xylan; spruce; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract :    The kraft process is a complex system with many variables, and though the process is fairly well understood, there is still much we do not know.    This thesis examines some aspects of the kraft process that could prove to be of interest for the pulp and paper industry, specifically, the impact of wood chip impregnation and of the chemical structure of xylan on spruce kraft pulp. Abstract : Rare earth elements (REE) are a group of elements that are of critical importance in numerous technological applications, including “green technologies” such as wind turbines and hybrid car batteries. When the criticality of applications is considered, problems in supply has brought the option of effective secondary resource utilization into consideration. READ MORE

  4. 4. Hydrogen Production by Integration of Fluidized Bed Heat Exchangers in Steam Reforming

    Author : Viktor Stenberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; oxygen carrier aided combustion; chemical-looping combustion; bed-to-tube heat transfer.; steam reforming; fluidized bed heat exchanger;

    Abstract : The possibility to integrate fluidized beds as heat sources for steam reforming in industrial hydrogen production plants is examined in this work. The proposed processes include traditional catalytic steam reforming of natural gas (SMR), shift reactors and purification steps; the main difference is the reformer furnace. READ MORE

  5. 5. Longterm performance of polyolefins in different environments including chlorinated water: antioxidant consumption and migration and polymer degradation

    Author : Marie Lundbäck; Ulf Gedde; Thomas Hjertberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical engineering; polyethylene; polybutylene; HDPE; LLDPE; phenolic antioxidants; oxidation induction time OIT ; migration; chlorinated water; pressure testing; lifetime; chemical consumption.; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The long-term performance of stabilized polyolefins in different environments was studied with focus on antioxidant consumption and migration. Plaques of linear polyethylene (LPE) and branched polyethylene (BPE) were stabilized with Santonox® R (4,4'-Thiobis(6-tert-butyl-3-methylphenol)), Irganox® 1081 (2,2’-Thiobis(4-methyl-6-tertbutylphenol)), or Lowinox® 22M46 (2,2’-Methylenebis(6-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol)).
