    Abstract : The direct variable costs for heat and electricity production based on solid biomass fuel combustion is approximately 3-5 times lower than the costs in a fossil fuel-oil based boiler in Sweden. In addition waste derived biomass fuels are typically much cheaper than biomass not classified as waste. READ MORE

  2. 7. The initial phase of the sodium bisulfite pulping of softwood dissolving pulp

    Author : Raghu Deshpande; Ulf Germgård; Martin Ragnar; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Activation energy; bisulfite pulping; cellulose; delignification; extractives; glucomannan; hemicelluloses; lignin; pine; spruce; thiosulfate; total SO2; xylan; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The sulfite pulping process is today practised in only a small number of pulp mills around the globe and the number of sulfite mills that use sodium as the base (cation) is less than five. However, due to the increasing interest in the wood based biorefinery concept, the benefits of sulfite pulping and especially the sodium based variety, has recently gained a lot of interest. 3. 8. Biomimetic Reactions : Water Oxidation and Aerobic Oxidation

    Author : Lien-Hoa Tran; Björn Åkermark; Nina Kann; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cobalt II salophen; oxygen-activating catalyst; hybrid; manganese complex; epoxidation; water oxidation.; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis deals mainly with two oxidation reactions: water oxidation and aerobic oxidation, both of which have been applied in a biomimetic fashion. In the former reaction molecular oxygen is generated whereas in the latter it was used as terminal oxidant in oxidation reactions. READ MORE
