16. Novel Metal Oxide Bed Materials for Efficient Solid Fuel Gasification and Gas Clean-up in Fluidized Beds
Abstract : In this work the utilization of some novel metal oxide bed materials in dual-fluidized bed gasification systems has been investigated. For this purpose, metal oxide based bed materials can be 1) directly utilized in the dual fluidized bed gasifier (DFB) or in the Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) process in order to achieve higher gasification rates, or 2) employed in downstream hot gas conditioning processes, e. 17. Non-Standard Crystallography : Examples in 3- and 3+1 Dimensional Space
Abstract : Crystallography today is by many seen as merely a tool for determining the structure of a material on the atomic level. It is expected that whatever comes out of the tool is the indisputable truth, a fact. This thesis is based on five publications illustrating that this is very far from the real world of materials research. READ MORE

18. Ordering of atoms and vacancies in cubic gamma brasses
Abstract : The article reviews crystal structure investigations of some binary cubic gamma brasses. The normal l-centered and primitive gamma brass structures as well as 2 x 2 x 2 cubic superstructures with both F- and l-centered unit cells are described. READ MORE

19. Refined crystal structures of Zn(II)- and Cu(II)-alcohol dehydrogenase : a comparative study
Abstract : The crystal structure of the ternary complex of horse liver alcohol dehydrogenase (LADH) with the coenzyme NADH and inhibitor dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) (space group PI) has been refined by simulated annealing with molecular dynamics and restrained positional refinement using the program system XPLOR. The resulting crystallographic R- factor is 17. READ MORE

20. Structural studies of polychlorinated hydrocarbons : DDT analogues and degradation products
Abstract : The crystal structures of five analogues and degradation products of DOT have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The conformations of these compounds are discussed and compared with the other DDT-type compounds whose crystal structures have been solved. READ MORE
