  1. 16. Isocyanates and Amines – Sampling and Analytical Procedures

    Author : Åsa Marand; Gunnar Skarping; Marianne Dalene; Daniel Karlsson; Roy Rando; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Isocyanates; Amines; Polyurethane; Air sampling; Industrial hygiene; Mass spectrometry; Liquid chromatography; Chemiluminescence; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis covers sampling and analytical procedures for isocyanates (R-NCO) and amines (R-NH2), two kinds of chemicals frequently used in association with the polymeric material polyurethane (PUR). Exposure to isocyanates may result in respiratory disorders and dermal sensitisation, and they are one of the main causes of occupational asthma. READ MORE

  3. 18. Oxidation of stressed polymers as studied by chemiluminescence

    Author : Karin Jacobson; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Since the use of chemiluminescence (CL) is known to be avery sensitive technique for studying oxidation of polymers,its potential as a tool for studying the oxidation of stressedpolymers is thoroughly investigated in this thesis. A number ofearlier reports on stress induced chemiluminescence (SCL) showthat SCL has potential for elucidating polymer stressreactions. READ MORE

  4. 19. Luminol chemiluminescence and some analytical applications in biochemistry and microbiology

    Author : Lena Ewetz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The chemiluminescent luminol reaction was studied in the presence of hematin compounds and perborate. It was found that the maximum rate of light emission of chemiluminescence was proportional to initial concentrations of all participating reactants and that perborate promoted destruction of the hematin compounds concomitant with the decline of the rate of chemiluminescence. 5. 20. Impacts of alternative combustion diluents and hydrogen addition on a swirl-stabilized flame related to gas turbine application

    Author : Mao Li; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Keywords : lean premixed combustion; Swirl-stabilized flame; Gas turbine combustion; Flame dilution; H2 addition; Lean blowout; CO emission; PVC; CH chemiluminescence; Inverse Abel transform; PIV; POD;

    Abstract : The global energy tendency leads to increasing attention on clean combustion technologies in order to eliminate adverse impacts on the environment. The utilization of oxyfuel combustion (CO2 acts as the only combustion dilution), flame diluents, and hydrogen fuel in gas turbine combustion provides a promising solution to reduce combustion pollutant emissions.
