1. Investigation of Some Heat Transfer Surfaces for Gas Turbine Recuperators
Abstract : A part of this thesis has been devoted to present general recuperator technology such as available gas turbine recuperator types, applications where recuperators are utilized, recuperator materials etc. An investigation of some compact and highly efficient heat transfer surfaces, for intended use in gas turbine recuperators, include the following surfaces: · Cross Wavy (CW) primary surface. 2. Wafer Bonding for Spaceflight Applications : Processing and Characterisation
Abstract : Bonding techniques intended for assembling space microsystems are studied in this work. One of the largest problems in bonding pre-processed semiconductor wafers are the severe process restrictions imposed by material compatibility issues. READ MORE

3. Design and fabrication of hidden hinge monocrystalline silicon micromirrors for maskless lithography
Abstract : Micromirror-based maskless lithography has recently received attention as an attractive candidate to tackle challenges associated with the continued de-vice scaling in the semiconductor industry. The micromirrors work by diffrac-tion and the requirements on planarity are very tough, e.g. peak-to-valley dif-ferences of a few nanometers. READ MORE

4. Low temperature transfer bonding for MEMS. Utilizing and characterizing oxygen plasma assisted direct wafer bonding
Abstract : Transfer bonding enables the integration of devices, e.g. integrated circuits (ICs) and transducers, fabricated using processes and/or designs that are not compatible with each other as well as double sided micromachining of thin films. READ MORE

5. Folding of the Ribosomal protein S6 : The role of sequence connectivity, overlapping foldons, and parallel pathways
Abstract : To investigate how protein folding is affected by sequence connectivity five topological variants of the ribosomal protein S6 were constructed through circular permutation. In these constructs, the chain connectivity (i.e. the order of secondary-structure elements) is changed without changing the native-state topology. READ MORE
