1. Theoretical Studies of Hadronic Reactions with Vector Mesons
Abstract : Aiming at a systematic inclusion of pseudoscalar and vector mesons as active degrees of freedom in an effective Lagrangian, studies have been performed in this thesis concerning the foundations of such an effective Lagrangian as well as tree-level and beyond-tree-level calculations. Hereby, vector mesons are described by antisymmetric tensor fields. READ MORE

2. Meson Decay with Isospin Breaking At Two Loops
Abstract : In all calculations done in this thesis, the evaluation of higher order quantum corrections has been central. In the first paper included in this thesis we have investigated the effects of finite volume meson propagators for quark-antiquark vacuum expectation value at two-loop level. READ MORE

3. Pion and Kaon Dynamics at Higher Orders in Chiral Perturbation Theory
Abstract : Higher orders calculations of processes involving the pion and kaon pseudo-scalar mesons are presented in the framework of three flavour Chiral Perturbation Theory. The purpose is two-fold. First determining the low energy constants of ChPT that are necessary for higher accuracy predictions. READ MORE

4. Soft and Hard Mesons in Chiral Perturbation Theory
Abstract : This thesis deals with Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT), an effective field theory for the strong force used to describe meson interactions. The work done can be split in two parts. The first one is on ChPT in its standard formulation. This theory has been very successful so far in describing low energetic processes. READ MORE

5. Some Aspects of Chirality: fermion masses and chiral p-forms
Abstract : This thesis deals with different types of chiral fields. The properties of fermion masses are investigated from different poits of view, both within the Standard Model and in extensions of the model. It is shown how mass matrix invariants are used to define the measurables of the quark mixing matrix as invariant functions of the mass matrices. READ MORE
