  1. 1. Chloride Transport in Concrete under the Frost Action – An Experimental Study

    Author : Bo Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; temperature; chloride; concrete; freeze-thaw cycles; water uptake; chloride profile; frost action; transport;

    Abstract : Frost-induced ingress of chloride in concrete is one of the typical transport phenomena of aggressive substances when structures expose to severe environments such as marine tidal zone and de-icing highway in winter seasons. It is well known that Chloride ingress in concrete causes the reinforcement corrosion. READ MORE

  2. 2. Chloride profiling in marine concrete - methods and tools for sampling

    Author : Henrik Wall; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; klorider; betong; provtagning; concrete; sampling; chloride;

    Abstract : This project focuses on how to determine the chloride content in concrete structures exposed to marine environment in an accurate way. When analyzing dust from dry drilling in concrete, it is very often a fact that the chloride profiles show extensive variations even if the sampling has been performed within a very concentrated area with the sampling points close to each other. 3. 3. Possibilities to use industrial oxidic by-products as neutralising agent in bioleaching and the effect of chloride on biooxidation

    Author : Chandra Sekhar Gahan; S. Subramanian; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : The cost for neutralisation is the second largest cost in a bioleaching operation for which, possibilities to replace generally used lime/limestone was tested. Industrial oxidic by-products generated form Swedish industries were investigated for neutralising capacities by chemical leaching with sulphuric acid at pH 1. READ MORE

  4. 4. Numerical modelling of swirling drying flow

    Author : Simon Johansson; Per Carlsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Waste hydrochloric acid (HCl) from the pickling process at SSAB EMEA in Borl¨ange, Sweden, is regenerated using a technique called spray roasting where waste HCl is sprayed into a hot reactor through four spray nozzles at the top of the reactor. The regeneration (drying) process is driven by four natural gas burners placed symmetrically along the periphery of the reactor and causes the water in the waste acid droplets to evaporate. 5. 5. Molecular Level Studies of the Metal/Atmosphere Interface

    Author : Jonas Weissenrieder; KTH; []
    Keywords : Iron; molecular level; in-situ;

    Abstract : The chemistry andphysics involved at the metal/atmosphereinterface is interesting both from a fundamental and an appliedperspective. Since iron is the most important of all metalsthis interface is of particular interest. READ MORE
