1. Prediction of function shift in protein families
Abstract : With the availability of a large number of complete genome sequences, it has become essential to annotate the protein sequences derived from them as precisely as possible. Even though presently available computational methods can predict broad functionality for most protein sequences, there is room for improvement in order to get more precise functional annotation. 2. English Colour Terms in Context
Abstract : This thesis examines usage of English colour terms in context, based on an extensive computerised text corpus, the Bank of English. It describes the ways in which English colour terms may be used to refer to nuances outside their normal area of designation and to attributes outside the colour domain. READ MORE

3. A classifying algebra for CFT boundary conditions
Abstract : Conformal field theories (CFT) constitute an interesting class of twodimensionalquantum field theories, with applications in string theoryas well as condensed matter physics. The symmetries of a CFT can beencoded in the mathematical structure of a conformal vertex algebra. READ MORE

4. Usefulness of coronary angiography for assessing left ventricular function
Abstract : This thesis focus on the physiological information, on left ventricular (LV) motion in the long axis, evaluated in routine coronaty angiography sequences and based on previous knowledge from echocardiographic studies. As coronary angiography has become a very frequent examination, a method for assessment of LV function from routine coronary angiograms would probably have a significant impact on clinical work. 5. Structure-Dynamics relationship in basalganglia: Implications for brain function
Abstract : In this thesis, I have used a combination of computational models such as mean field and spikingnetwork simulations to study various sub-circuits of basal ganglia. I first studied the striatum(chapter 2), which is the input nucleus of basal ganglia. READ MORE
