  1. 1. Hydrological Modeling for Climate Change Impact Assessment Transferring Large-Scale Information from Global Climate Models to the Catchment Scale

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology, Stockholm University

    Author : Claudia Teutschbein; Stockholms universitet.; [2013]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bias Correction; Climate Change; Climate Models; Ensembles; GCM; HBV; Hydrological Modeling; Precipitation; RCM; Split Sample Test; Streamflow; Sweden; Temperature; Uncertainty; naturgeografi; Physical Geography;

    Abstract : A changing climate can severely perturb regional hydrology and thereby affect human societies and life in general. To assess and simulate such potential hydrological climate change impacts, hydrological models require reliable meteorological variables for current and future climate conditions. READ MORE

  2. 2. On the Late Saalian glaciation A climate modeling study

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Geology and Geochemistry, Stockholm University

    Author : Florence Colleoni; Stockholms universitet.; [2009]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Climate modeling; Eurasian ice sheet; Quaternary; Saalian; surface mass balance; SST; NATURAL SCIENCES Earth sciences; NATURVETENSKAP Geovetenskap; Marine Geoscience; marin geovetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on the glaciation of the Late Saalian period (160 -140 ka) over Eurasia. The Quaternary Environment of the Eurasian North (QUEEN) project determined that during this period, the Eurasian ice sheet was substantially larger than during the entire Weichselian cycle and especially that of the Last Glacial Maximum (21 ka, LGM). 3. 3. Climate Related Impacts on a Lake From Physics to Biology

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Thorsten Blenckner; Uppsala universitet.; [2001]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; Ecosystem processes; climate; phytoplankton; NAO; SCI; ice cover; modeling; Biologi; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi; limnologi; Limnology;

    Abstract : Climatic variation and change affect the dynamics of organisms and ecosystem processes. This thesis examines phytoplankton as a target variable to trace climatic impacts on Lake Erken (Sweden) with special emphasis on the spring bloom. READ MORE

  5. 5. Arctic Climate and Water Change Information Relevance for Assessment and Adaptation

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology, Stockholm University

    Author : Arvid Bring; Stockholms universitet.; [2013]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrology; Monitoring; Arctic; Climate Change; Adaptatation; naturgeografi; Physical Geography;

    Abstract : The Arctic is subject to growing economic and political interest. Meanwhile, its water and climate systems are in rapid transformation. Relevant and accessible information about water and climate is therefore vital to detect, understand and adapt to the changes. READ MORE
