1. Near-ambient pressure velocity map imaging
Abstract : Catalytic reactions on solid surfaces have been studied under Ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions for decades. These studies provide crucial information for catalytic reactions, such as surface structures, adsorption sites, and reaction mechanisms. READ MORE

2. Modelling as a Tool to Evaluate Continuously Measured Concentration Value of Gaseous Indoor Air Pollutants
Abstract : Results from studies of air quality in buildings are often difficult to interpret and evaluate and, in order to avoid erroneous conclusions, special evaluating tools may be needed. Modelling in various forms can be used as a method of evaluating measured values from such investigations. READ MORE

3. Off-gassing from thermally treated lignocellulosic biomass
Abstract : Off-gassing of hazardous compounds is, together with self-heating and dust explosions, the main safety hazards within large-scale biomass storage and handling. Formation of CO, CO2, and VOCs with concurrent O2 depletion can occur to hazardous levels in enclosed stored forest products. READ MORE

4. Synchrotron Radiation, Adsorption Isotherms and the Large Hadron Collider Vacuum System
Abstract : In circular particle accelerators and storage rings with relativistic beams of particles, e.g. electrons or protons, the vacuum performance of the accelerator is determined by the outgassing from the walls of the beam vacuum chamber. READ MORE

5. CO2 mitigation in advanced power cycles
Abstract : This thesis encompasses CO2 mitigation using three different processes: i) natural gas-fired combined cycle with chemical looping combustion (CLC), ii) trigeneration of electrical power, hydrogen and district heating with extended CLC, iii) steam-based gasification of biomass integrated in an advanced power cycle. In CLC, a solid oxygen carrier circulates between two fluidised-bed reactors and transports oxygen from the combustion air to the fuel; thus, the fuel is not mixed with air and an inherent CO2 separation occurs.
