  1. 1. Cognitive and Self-Adaptive SoCs with Self-Healing Run-Time-Reconfigurable RecoBlocks

    Author : Byron Navas; Ingo Sander; Johnny Öberg; Michael Hübner; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : In contrast to classical Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), partial and run-time reconfigurable (RTR) FPGAs can selectively reconfigure partitions of its hardware almost immediately while it is still powered and operative. In this way, RTR FPGAs combine the flexibility of software with the high efficiency of hardware. READ MORE

  2. 2. Perceive those things which cannot be seen : A cognitive systems engineering perspective on requirements management

    Author : Åsa Hedenskog; Rune Gustavsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Software tools; Usability requirements; Cognitive systems engineering; Systems engineering; Systemteknik;

    Abstract : Non-functional requirements contribute to the overall quality of software, and should therefore be a part of any development effort. However, in practice they are often considered to be too difficult to handle. The purpose of this thesis is to gain understanding of where the nature and origin of these difficulties may lie. Abstract : This thesis examines Cognitively Inspired Design (CID), which is the process of transferring cognitive science frameworks and theories to intelligent systems in an application context. The thesis studies the relation between cognitive science and the traditional approach to developing systems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Computer Visualization in Participatory and Cognitive Engineering

    Author : Peter Bengtsson; Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi; []

    Abstract : This thesis tells the initiation story of a computer visualization methodology and a participatory engineering methodology. The two methodologies are tightly coupled and for the purpose of this thesis, as a unit, named Computer Visualization in Par-ticipatory Engineering (VIPE). READ MORE

  5. 5. Model-Based Cognitive Radio Strategies

    Author : Kasra Haghighi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Spectrum utilization; cognitive radio; censorship; CLAPP; sequential detection;

    Abstract : Many frequency bands for wireless services are severely underutilized by the primary users (PU) to which these bands are assigned. This motivates a new class of wireless communication devices known as cognitive radios (CR), which identify vacant spectrum and transmit accordingly. READ MORE
