  1. 16. Parton Cascades and Hadronisation in High Energy Processes

    Author : Sandipan Mohanty; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; small invariant mass hadronic systems; hadronisation; parton cascades; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; quantum field theory; Bose-Einstein correlations; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Mohanty;

    Abstract : The Lund string fagmentation model was reformulated as a process along the boundary curve of the string called the directrix, in order to treat multigluon strings according to the Lund model area law. It was found that the hadrons in the final state could be collected into several groups, in such a way that the energy-momenta of the hadrons in a group lie in a plane in the Minkowski space within small transverse fluctuations. 2. 17. Innovation Resistance : Moving Beyond Dominant Framings

    Author : Helena Fornstedt; Marcus Lindahl; David Sköld; Hervé Corvellec; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Innovation; Innovation Resistance; Barriers to Innovation; Actor-Network Theory; Critical Innovation Studies; Science; Technology and Innovation Studies; Knowledge production; Innovation in the Anthropocene; Sustainability; Engineering Science with specialization in industrial engineering and management; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot industriell teknik;

    Abstract : Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) research has mainly had an outlook that frames innovation in a pro-innovation, pro-firm, manner. Connected to this perception of innovation is a view of human and non-human resistance as a temporary unwanted response that will eventually be overcome. READ MORE

  3. 18. Evolution in changing environments revealed by fire melanism in pygmy grasshopper

    Author : Magnus Karlsson; Anders Forsman; Karl Gotthard; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Evolution Melanism Polymorphism Pygmy grasshoppers; Biology; Biologi; Evolutionary Biology; Evolutionsbiologi;

    Abstract : According to theory, genetic diversity can be maintained by environmental variation and the degree of genetic and phenotypic polymorphism may enhance the ability of populations to endure stress imposed by changing environments. In my thesis I used colour polymorphic pygmy grasshoppers (Tetrix subulata) as a model system to explore how environmental variation influenced genetic diversity. READ MORE

  4. 19. Interplay between soft and hard processes in quantum chromodynamics

    Author : Anders Edin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiation sciences; Strålningsvetenskap; Radiation biology; Strålningsbiologi; högenergifysik; High Energy Physics;

    Abstract : In QCD, the theory of strong interactions, hard processes with large momentum transfers can be calculated using perturbation theory, while soft processes with small momentum transfers are poorly understood. In this thesis, phenomenological models of soft and hard QCD processes are developed and tested. READ MORE

  5. 20. Speciation genomics : A perspective from vertebrate systems

    Author : Nagarjun Vijay; Jochen. B.W Wolf; C. Alex Buerkle; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : evolution; speciation; genomics; vertebrate; adaptation; selection; linked selection; crow; killer whale; hybrid zone; transcriptomics; population genetics; behaviour; colouration; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Genetics; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär genetik;

    Abstract : Species are vital entities in biology. Species are generally considered to be discrete entities, consisting of a group of (usually interbreeding) individuals that are similar in phenotype and genetic composition, yet differ in significant ways from other species. READ MORE
