1. ## 1. New Constructions for Competitive and Minimal-Adaptive Group Testing

Abstract : Group testing (GT) was originally proposed during the World War II in an attempt to minimize the \emph{cost} and \emph{waiting time} in performing identical blood tests of the soldiers for a low-prevalence disease. Formally, the GT problem asks to find $d\ll n$ \emph{defective} elements out of $n$ elements by querying subsets (pools) for the presence of defectives. READ MORE

2. ## 2. Engineering Competitive and Query-Optimal Minimal-Adaptive Randomized Group Testing Strategies

University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

Abstract : Suppose that given is a collection of $n$ elements where $d$ of them are \emph{defective}. We can query an arbitrarily chosen subset of elements which returns Yes if the subset contains at least one defective and No if the subset is free of defectives. The problem of group testing is to identify the defectives with a minimum number of such queries. READ MORE

4. ## 4. Realise the Potential! Cost Effective and Energy Efficient District Heating in European Urban Areas

University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers University of Technology

Abstract : The Member States of EU27 need to accelerate the integration of energy efficient technology solutions to reach the 20% energy efficiency target set for 2020. At current pace, projections indicate that only half of expected primary energy reductions will be reached. READ MORE
