21. Achieving reliable networking for the generic autonomous platform for sensor systems : (GAP4S)
Abstract : Networks of wireless integrated sensors are often used to monitorparameters distributed in the environment. These parameters arerelated to a variety of applications such as security, patientmonitoring, chemical and biological hazard detection. Some solutionsrely on replaceable batteries with a limited life-time to providelong-term sensor operation. READ MORE

22. Switchable and tunable bulk acoustic wave resonators based on BaxSr1-xTiO3 thin films
Abstract : The main focus of this thesis is the study of a novel microwave component, the tunable thin film bulk acoustic wave resonator (TFBAR), based on ferroelectric BaxSr1-xTiO3 thin films. Conventional fixed frequency TFBARs, widely used for filtering applications in wireless communication systems, are based on ordinary piezoelectrics. READ MORE

23. Simulation and Electrical Evaluation of 4H-SiC Junction Field Effect Transistors and Junction Barrier Schottky Diodes with Buried Grids
Abstract : Silicon carbide (SiC) has higher breakdown field strength than silicon (Si), which enables thinner and more highly doped drift layers compared to Si. Consequently, the power losses can be reduced compared to Si-based power conversion systems. Moreover, SiC allows the power conversion systems to operate at high temperatures up to 250 oC. READ MORE

24. Design, Synthesis and Properties of Bipyridine-capped Oligothiophenes for Directed Energy and Electron Transfer in Molecular Electronic Applications
Abstract : The earliest landmark in computer technology was construction of the Electronic Numerial Integrator and Computer, ENIAC. Computational switching was performed with vacuum tubes and relays, rather large in size, making this computer rather unwieldy. READ MORE

25. Nucleic acid delivery : reports from the search of the magic bullet
Abstract : Gene therapy is regarded as one of the most promising therapeutic approaches, since it has the potential to treat disorders by correcting malformations at the nucleic acids level rather than proteins, as opposed to conventional medicine. However, for non-viral gene therapy to successfully fulfill the requirements associated to the “magic bullet” has proven difficult. READ MORE
