21. Text Harmonization Strategies for Phrase-Based Statistical Machine Translation
Abstract : In this thesis I aim to improve phrase-based statistical machine translation (PBSMT) in a number of ways by the use of text harmonization strategies. PBSMT systems are built by training statistical models on large corpora of human translations. This architecture generally performs well for languages with similar structure. READ MORE

22. Dried nanofibrillated cellulose and its bionanocomposites
Abstract : During the past decade there has been a growing interest in the reinforcement of synthetic polymers with cellulose nanowhiskers and nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) obtained from plants or bacteria. Their beneficial mechanical properties like high stiffness and strength, in combination with their low mass allowed successful reinforcement of water based polymer dispersions (latexes) for the production of solution cast composite films. 23. Enhancing Interactions Between Cellulose Fibers and Synthetic Polymers
Abstract : The nature of the interfacial interactions between cellulose fibers and synthetic polymers was studied. The goal was to gain knowledge of and enhance interactions in cellulose- based multicomponent systems. READ MORE

24. Modelling the effects of organic aerosol phase partitioning processes on cloud formation
Abstract : Atmospheric aerosols particles may act as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) that provide sites for condensation of water vapour for the formation of cloud droplets, called cloud droplet activation. Whether aerosol particles are CCN is determined by their size, composition and the ambient humidity. READ MORE

25. Diagnostic, Prognostic, and Disease Activity Biomarkers in Multiple Sclerosis
Abstract : Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common immune-mediated disease of the central nervous system. While benign cases exist, if left untreated, MS results in the compounding accumulation of disability. READ MORE
