21. Structures of String Matching and Data Compression
Abstract : This doctoral dissertation presents a range of results concerning efficient algorithms and data structures for string processing, including several schemes contributing to sequential data compression. It comprises both theoretic results and practical implementations. READ MORE

22. Compression-moulded and multifunctional cellulose network materials
Abstract : Cellulose-based materials are widely used in a number of important applications (e.g. paper, wood, textiles). Additional developments are suggested by the growing interest for natural fibre-based composite and nanocomposite materials. READ MORE

23. Metastatic spinal cord compression in prostate cancer : clinical and morphological studies
Abstract : Background: Bone metastases occur in most patients with advanced hormone-refractory prostate cancer causing pain, pathologic fractures, and spinal cord compression. Few studies specifically address surgical treatment of metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC) in prostate cancer. READ MORE

24. Identification and Variation of some Functionality Related Characteristics of Pharmaceutically Relevant Solid Materials and their Effect on Product Performance
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to identify some functionality related characteristics of pharmaceutically relevant solid materials and to study the effect of their variation on processing behaviour and product performance. For this purpose, particles with different characteristics were prepared under a variety of conditions by crystal agglomeration, wet granulation and spray drying. READ MORE

25. Compression mechanics of pharmaceutical aggregates : Studies on the tabletting of spheronised aggregates with varying composition and porosity
Abstract : The thesis investigated the tabletting behaviour of aggregates of different porosity and material composition, and focused on the role of the compression mechanics of the aggregates as a link between their structure and composition and the structure and functionality of tabletsformed from them. The aggregates studied all responded to compression by deformation and densification. READ MORE
