  1. 1. MaltParser -- An Architecture for Inductive Labeled Dependency Parsing

    Author : Johan Hall; Joakim Nivre; Welf Löwe; Martin Volk; Växjö universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dependency Parsing; Support Vector Machines; Machine Learning; Language technology; Språkteknologi; Computer and Information Sciences Computer Science; Data- och informationsvetenskap;

    Abstract : This licentiate thesis presents a software architecture for inductive labeled dependency parsing of unrestricted natural language text, which achieves a strict modularization of parsing algorithm, feature model and learning method such that these parameters can be varied independently. The architecture is based on the theoretical framework of inductive dependency parsing by Nivre \citeyear{nivre06c} and has been realized in MaltParser, a system that supports several parsing algorithms and learning methods, for which complex feature models can be defined in a special description language. 2. 2. Computational electromagnetics : software development and high frequency modeling of surface currents on perfect conductors

    Author : Sandy Sefi; Jesper Oppelstrup; Francisco Saez de Adana; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High frequency approximations; Maxwell’s equations; Method of Moments; Physical Optics; Geometrical Theory of Diffraction; Extraction Extrapolation; Numerical analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Abstract : In high frequency computational electromagnetics, rigorous numerical methods be come unrealistic tools due to computational demand increasing with the frequency. Instead approximations to the solutions of the Maxwell equations can be employed to evaluate th electromagnetic fields. READ MORE

  3. 3. Model Adaptivity in Elasticity

    Author : David Heintz; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; finite element method; dimension reduction; a posteriori error; model error; model adaptivity; model error;

    Abstract : We consider model adaptivity in elasticity for dimensionally reduced forms, and shall treat different conceptual approaches. The basic idea, however, is to adaptively refine, not only the computational mesh, but also the underlying mathematical formulation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Numerical Model Reduction and Error Control for Computational Homogenization of Transient Problems

    Author : Fredrik Ekre; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; model reduction; error estimation; computational homogenization;

    Abstract : Multiscale modeling is a class of methods useful for numerical simulation of mechanics, in particular, when the microstructure of a material is of importance. The main advantage is the ability to capture the overall response, and, at the same time, account for processes and structures on the underlying fine scales. READ MORE

  5. 5. Automated Computational Modeling

    Author : Johan Jansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multi-adaptivity; Galerkin; ODE; PDE; plasticity; elasticity; FEM; automated;

    Abstract : This thesis is part of the FEniCS project of Automation of Computational Mathematical Modeling (ACMM) as the modern manifestation of the basic principle of science:formulating mathematical equations (modeling) and solving equations (computation). The vision of FEniCS is to set a new standard towards the goals of generality, efficiency, and simplicity, concerning mathematical methodology, implementation, and application. READ MORE
