  1. 1. Capacity Scaling for Elastic Compute Clouds

    Author : Ahmed Ali-Eldin; Erik Elmroth; Johan Tordsson; Alexandru Iosup; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; datalogi; Computer Systems; datorteknik;

    Abstract : AbstractCloud computing is a computing model that allows better management, higher utiliza-tion and reduced operating costs for datacenters while providing on demand resourceprovisioning for different customers. Data centers are often enormous in size andcomplexity. READ MORE

  2. 2. Capacity Management Approaches for Compute Clouds

    Author : Mina Sedaghat; Erik Elmroth; Sarunas Girdzijauskas; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cloud computing; Capacity Management; business data processing; administrativ databehandling;

    Abstract : Cloud computing provides the illusion of a seamless, infinite resource pool with flexibleon-demand accessibility. However, behind this illusion there are thousands ofservers and peta-bytes of storage, running tens of thousands of applications accessedby millions of users. READ MORE

  3. 3. Cluster Scheduling and Management for Large-Scale Compute Clouds

    Author : Mina Sedaghat; Erik Professor; Omer Rana; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cloud computing; Scheduling; Resource Management;

    Abstract : Cloud computing has become a powerful enabler for many IT services and new technolo-gies. It provides access to an unprecedented amount of resources in a fine-grained andon-demand manner. To deliver such a service, cloud providers should be able to efficientlyand reliably manage their available resources. READ MORE

  5. 5. Isomorphism classes of abelian varieties over finite fields

    Author : Stefano Marseglia; Jonas Bergström; Lars Halle; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Algebraic Geometry; Abelian Varieties; Finite Fields; Ideal Class Group; Ideal Class Monoid;

    Abstract : Deligne and Howe described polarized abelian varieties over finite fields in terms of finitely generated free Z-modules satisfying a list of easy to state axioms. In this thesis we address the problem of developing an effective algorithm to compute isomorphism classes of (principally) polarized abelian varieties over a finite field, together with their automorphism groups.
