  1. 16. Acute Colonic Diverticulitis : The role of computed tomography in primary diagnosis, prediction of complications and surgical intervention

    Author : Arnar Thorisson; Abbas Chabok; Torkel Brismar; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Colonic diverticulitis; complicated diverticulitis; computed tomography; low-dose CT; Radiology; Radiologi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to expand the current knowledge regarding the advantages and limitations of computed tomography (CT) for patients with acute diverticulitis and evaluate outpatient treatment for uncomplicated diverticulitis.Paper I: A retrospective evaluation of 602 patients with reported uncomplicated diverticulitis. 2. 17. Orthopaedic measurements with computed radiography. Methodological development, accuracy, and radiation dose with special reference to the weight-bearing lower extremity and the dislocating patella

    Author : Jan Sanfridsson; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; digital.; computer-assisted; Picture Archiving and Communication Systems; computed radiography; radiography; effective dose; radiation dosage; measurements; biomechanics; dislocating patella; musculoskeletal; patellofemoral joint; Knee joint; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a measurement system for computed radiography (CR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), permitting measurements of long distances and angles in and between related images. The developed measurement system, which was based on the QUESTOR Precision Radiography (QPR) system, was applied to the weight-bearing knee with special reference to the dislocating patella. 3. 18. Computed Tomography of the Coronary Arteries : Developmental and Prognostic Investigations

    Author : Mårten Sandstedt; Anders Persson; Joakim Alfredsson; Magnus Janzon; Jan Engvall; Mats Lidén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Computed tomography (CT) is an increasingly used modality for investigations of patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). Technical advances could improve diagnostic accuracy and lead to clinical workflow improvements. Also, more prognostic information can optimize clinical follow-up strategies and treatments. 4. 19. Spectral Computed Tomography with a Photon-Counting Silicon-Strip Detector

    Author : Mats Persson; Mats Danielsson; Hans Bornefalk; Jiang Hsieh; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Photon-counting; silicon-strip detector; spectral computed tomography; ring artifacts; fluence rate; basis material decomposition; sub-pixel information; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Computed tomography (CT) is a widely used medical imaging modality. By rotating an x-ray tube and an x-ray detector around the patient, a CT scanner is able to measure the x-ray transmission from all directions and form an image of the patient’s interior. READ MORE

  5. 20. Maxillofacial cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) : aspetcs on optimisation

    Author : Ayman Al-Okshi; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CBCT; OPTIMISATION; DOSAGE;

    Abstract : Inom odontologisk såväl som inom medicinsk radiologi sker en snabb utveckling av nya tekniker. Nya metoder för att kunna diagnosticera och följa sjukdomsförlopp över tid introduceras. Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) är en sådan ny teknik, som introducerades inom odontologin under sent 1990-tal. READ MORE
