  1. 1. On aircraft fuel system design : concept evaluation and system modeling

    Author : Hampus Gavel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : THE LARGEST AND most important fluid system in an aircraft is the fuel system. Obviously, future aircraft projects involve the design of fuel system to some degree. In this project design methodologies for aircraft fuel systems are studied, with the aim to shortening the system development time. READ MORE

  2. 2. The Concept of Mobile Manufacturing

    Author : Carin Stillström; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mobility; flexibility; changeability; manufacturing system; production system; Industrial organisation; administration and economics; Industriell organisation; administration och ekonomi; Manufacturing engineering and work sciences; Produktion och arbetsvetenskap;

    Abstract : There is a need for a manufacturing concept that is characterized by ease in changing between manufacturing places, ease in producing wherever it is convenient for the moment, ease in collaborating with different partners, and reconfigurability and reuse of manufacturing capacity, while at the same time keeping control of the own capabilities. The objective of this thesis is to investigate and describe the concept of mobile manufacturing in order to find new ways of competing for the manufacturing industry. READ MORE

  3. 3. Adoption of the Innovation System Concept in Sweden

    Author : Magnus Eklund; Lars Magnusson; Mats Larsson; Dan Bäcklund; Mats Benner; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; conceptual history; Quentin Skinner; innovation system concept; innovation thinking; VINNOVA; OECD; Sweden; research policy; research funding reform; Research 2000; sectoral research; university autonomy; industrial policy; industrial crisis; Economic history; Ekonomisk historia;

    Abstract : In 2001 Sweden founded the government agency of VINNOVA, named after the OECD-endorsed innovation system concept. Criticising the common assumption that countries are passive and uncritical recipients of the approaches promoted by the OECD, this dissertation tries to show that Swedish actors were in fact very active and strategic as they contributed to the national adoption of the concept. 4. 4. A Computational Framework for Control of Machining System Capability : From Formulation to Implementation

    Author : Andreas Archenti; Cornel Mihai Nicolescu; Mamoru Mitsuishi; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Machining system; Stability; Statistical Dynamics; Elastic Linked System ELS ; Operational Dynamic Parameters ODP ; Loaded Double Ball Bar LDBB ; Virtual Machining System Engine VMSE ; Contactless Excitation and Response System CERS .; SRA - Production; SRA - Produktion;

    Abstract : Comprehensive knowledge and information about the static and dynamic behaviour of machine tools, cutting processes and their interaction is essential for machining system design, simulation, control and robust operation in safe conditions. The very complex system of a machine tool, fixture and cutting tools during the machining of a part is almost impossible to model analytically with sufficient accuracy. READ MORE

    Abstract : During face-to-face meetings, humans use multimodal information, including verbal information, visual information, body language, facial expressions, and other non-verbal gestures. In contrast, during computer-mediated-communication (CMC), humans rely either on mono-modal information such as text-only, voice-only, or video-only or on bi-modal information by using audiovisual modalities such as video teleconferencing.
