  1. 1. Radiant Textiles : Designing electromagnetic textile systems

    Author : Erin Lewis; Tincuta Heinzel; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; smart textiles; electromagnetism; textile design; design methods; artistic research; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Abstract : To regard the electromagnetic domain of conductive textiles is to unlock a realm of expressive possibilities. The underexplored area of the electromagnetic domain in conductive textiles implies that numerous computational and electronic textiles created thus far possess untapped capabilities. READ MORE

  2. 2. Radiant Textiles : A framework for designing with electromagnetic phenomena

    Author : Erin Lewis; Delia Dumitrescu; Katharina Bredies; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; smart textiles; interaction design; textile interaction; textile; electronic; electromagnetism electromagnetic; design methods; artistic research; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Abstract : The design of smart, interactive, computational, and electronic textiles involves working with unknown variables that expand the tangible dimensions of textiles. Non-visual concepts such as electromagnetic fields, electrical current, computational code, and the temporal attributes of materials that exhibit dynamic qualities require that textile designers be able to perceive and manipulate domains of the textile that extend beyond its conventional forms of expression. 3. 3. Interactive Textile Structures : Creating Multifunctional Textiles based on Smart Materials

    Author : Lena Berglin; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; textile actuators; conductive textiles; smart textiles; textile design; textile engineering; textile sensors; Design; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Abstract : Textiles of today are materials with applications in almost all our activities. We wear clothes all the time and we are surrounded with textiles in almost all our environments. The integration of multifunctional values in such a common material has become a special area of interest in recent years. READ MORE

    Abstract : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. READ MORE

  5. 5. Electrically conductive textile coatings with PEDOT:PSS

    Author : Maria Åkerfeldt; Anne Schwarz; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : textile coating; conductive coating; conjugated polymers; ICP; PEDOT:PSS; textile properties; textile sensor; printed electronics; Smart textiles; poly 3; 4-ethylene dioxythiophene -poly styrene sulfonate ; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Abstract : In smart textiles, electrical conductivity is often required for several functions, especially contacting (electroding) and interconnecting. This thesis explores electrically conductive textile surfaces made by combining conventional textile coating methods with the intrinsically conductive polymer complex poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS).
