  1. 16. Spontaneous imbibition and colloidal aspects of inkjet printing

    Author : Asaf Oko; Per M. Claesson; Agne Swerin; Douglas Bousfield; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Water-based inkjet is one of the most abundant and versatile digital printing technologies. The subject of this thesis work is processes that take place once an inkjet drop lands on the surface of a porous printing media, with focus on liquid penetration due to capillary action (spontaneous imbibition) and aggregation of ink components. 2. 17. Quantified In Situ Analysis of Initial Atmospheric Corrosion : Surface heterogeneity, galvanic effects and corrosion product distribution on zinc, brass and Galvalume

    Author : Ping Qiu; Christofer Leygraf; Béatrice Hannoyer; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Atmospheric corrosion; Zinc; Brass; Galvalume; In Situ; Quantification.; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : The interaction of the surface of a pure metal or an alloy with the surrounding atmosphere occurs in a highly complex interfacial regime. During atmospheric corrosion this interfacial regime involves the metal surface, often covered by a naturally formed oxide layer of a few nanometers thickness; an aqueous adlayer, typically with a thickness of a few to a few tens of nanometers, and the atmosphere from which airborne particles, oxygen, and gaseous pollutants dissolve into the adlayer and influence the atmospheric corrosion process. 3. 18. Functionality of Spray-Dried Whey Protein Powders - Surface Composition, Particle Morphology and Rehydration

    Author : Ida-Marie Andersson; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Milk serum protein; Lactose; Whey protein powders; Spray drying; Particle morphology; Surface composition; Rehydration; Functionality; Milk serum protein; Lactose; Whey protein powders; Spray drying; Particle morphology; Surface composition; Rehydration; Functionality;

    Abstract : Whey protein powder functionality is expected to be closely linked to both structure and properties of the proteins. It is essential that whey protein powders are easily dispersed and dissolved in order to fulfil the specified nutrient content and the functionality in the final product. READ MORE

  4. 19. Atmospheric corrosion of copper and copper-based alloys in architecture : from native surface oxides to fully developed patinas

    Author : Tingru Chang; Inger Odnevall Wallinder; Tomas Prošek; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Copper and copper-based alloys are commonly used in both ancient and modern architecture. This requires an in-depth fundamental and applied understanding on their atmospheric corrosion behavior at different climatic, environmental and pollutant levels and how these parameters influence e.g. READ MORE

  5. 20. Molecular studies of initial atmospheric corrosion of copper : Exploration of ultra-sensitive techniques for the inhibiting effect of self assembled monolayers, and the effect of gamma radiation

    Author : Saman Hosseinpour; Christofer Leygraf; Franz Geiger; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Corrosion; copper; self assembled monolayer; sum frequency spectroscopy; qcm; gamma radiation;

    Abstract : Atmospheric corrosion indoors is of great practical importance for the degradation of metals, for example in electronics, military equipment, and cultural heritage items. It involves a wide range of chemical, electrochemical, and physical processes occurring in gas, liquid, and solid phases, and at the interfaces between them. READ MORE
