    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to explore the quantitative potential to reduce energy requirements and CO2 emissions through changed patterns of consumption, given unchanged levels of consumption expenditure. The thesis question is analysed using a systems analysis approach which in this case means that life cycle assessment data on energy requirements and CO2 emissions related to household consumption are combined with a financial and behavioural analysis to make sure that the budget constraint is kept and that both the first and second order effects of adopting a green consumption pattern are analysed. 2. 2. Restructured district heating price models and their impact on district heating users

    Author : Jingjing Song; Björn Karlsson; Fredrik Wallin; Hailong Li; Heimo Zinko; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; district heating; restructured price model; price model survey; pricing strategy; consumption profile; consumption pattern; alternative cost; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : District heating (DH) is considered to be an efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective method for providing heat to buildings, since electricity is usually co-generated in biomass fuelled combined heat and power (CHP) plants. This gives it an important role in the mitigation of climate change. READ MORE

  3. 3. Extended-Spectrum ß-Lactamase-Producing Enterobacteriaceae : Antibiotic consumption, Detection and Resistance Epidemiology

    Author : Åse Östholm Balkhed; Lennart Nilsson; Håkan Hanberger; Hans-Jurg Monstein; Anita Hällgren; Mats Kalin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Extended-Spectrum ß-Lactamase-Producing Enterobacteriaceae; Antibiotic consumption; Detection Methods; Multiplex PCR; Resistance Epidemiology; Multi-resistance; E. coli; ESBL; fecal carriage; faecal carriage; travel;

    Abstract : ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae are emerging worldwide and they are frequently multi-drug resistant, thus limiting treatment options for infections caused by these pathogens.The overall aim of the thesis was to investigate ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae in a Swedish county. Abstract : Although evolving mobile technologies bring millions of users closer to the vision of information anywhere-anytime, device battery depletions hamper the quality of experience to a great extent. The massive explosion of mobile applications with the ensuing data exchange over the cellular infrastructure is not only a blessing to the mobile user, but also has a price in terms of rapid discharge of the device battery.
