1. Vibrations induced by surface roughness in nonlinear rolling contacts
Abstract : For efficient transportation in either trains, busses or passenger cars, rolling elements such as wheels, tyres, bearings and transmission elements are fundamental. The energy efficiency and the generation of noise and vibrations in rolling contacts depend on the surface roughness of contacting bodies. READ MORE

2. Modelling Interfacial Details in Tyre/Road Contact Adhesion Forces and Non-Linear Contact Stiffness
Abstract : Rolling resistance, noise generation, and wear are all determined by the interaction process between the rolling automotive vehicle tyre and the road. A deep understandingof the interaction process is needed for optimisation aiming at reducing these effects. READ MORE

3. On efficient and adaptive modelling of friction damping in bladed disks
Abstract : This work focuses on efficient modelling and adaptive control of friction damping in bladed disks. To efficiently simulate the friction contact, a full-3D time-discrete contact model is reformulated and an analytical expression for the Jacobian matrix is derived that reduces the computation time drastically with respect to the classical finite difference method. 4. Flexographic Post-Printing of Corrugated Board : Contact Mechanics and Print Quality
Abstract : As the corrugated board industry strives to produce products with a higher print quality in the converting stage, there is a need for a greater understanding of the factors influencing the final print quality and how we perceive the print. In this work, a method for quantifying the print quality of printed corrugated board is presented as well as methods that quantitatively characterize the mechanical interaction between the printing form and the corrugated board in the printing nip. 5. Dynamic contact stiffness and air-flow related source mechanisms in the tyre/road contact
Abstract : Two aspect of phenomena occurring in, and in the vicinity of the contact patch formed by a tyre rolling on a road are here investigated: 1. A detailed numerical time domain contact model is used to evaluate approximations of the tread response that are commonly embraced in tyre/road interaction models. 2. READ MORE
