1. MRI Contrast Enhancement using Gd2O3 Nanoparticles
Abstract : There is an increasing interest for nanomaterials in biomedical applications and in this work, nanoparticles of gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3) have been investigated as a novel contrast agent for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Relaxation properties have been studied in aqueous solutions as well as in cell culture medium and the nanoparticles have been explored as cell labeling agents. READ MORE

2. Non-ionic contrast media in acrylic bone cement
Abstract : Non-ionic, water-soluble, contrast media, iohexol and/or iodixanol, have been investigated for use in acrylic bone cement aimed for arthroplasty. Bone cement, containing the new particulate contrast media , was investigated for: quasi-static mechanical properties, water uptake properties, release of contrast media from the bone cement, biological responses from particulate bone cement, polymerisation reaction, polymerisation temperature, glass transition temperature, injectability and penetration into human cancellous bone, and radiopacity. 3. Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Angiography - Development and optimization of techniques for paramagnetic and hyperpolarized contrast media
Abstract : Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) is a diagnostic method for imaging of vascular structures based on nuclear magnetic resonance. Vascular enhancement is achieved by injection of a contrast medium (CM). READ MORE

4. Low kilovoltage computed tomography to reduce contrast medium dose in patients at risk of acute kidney injury
Abstract : Background: Patients with reduced renal function may be at risk of contrast medium-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) following intravenous iodine contrast medium (CM) enhanced computed tomography (CT). Reducing the CM dose may reduce this risk. READ MORE

5. Mangafodipir trisodium (MnDPDP)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging of the liver and pancreas
Abstract : Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the liver and pancreas is frequently performed to improve the sensitivity and specificity of lesion detection in these organs. The concept of using tissue-specific contrast media is to selectively enhance the normal parenchyma, but not lesions, so that the contrast between tumorous and normal tissue is increased, and lesion detectability improved.
