    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Machine Learning; Control Theory; Statistical Learning; Fundamental Limits; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Learning algorithms play an ever increasing role in modern engineering solutions. However, despite many recent successes, their performance in the context of dynamical and control systems is not exactly well-understood. READ MORE

  2. 17. Planning and Control of Uncertain Cooperative Mobile Manipulator-Endowed Systems under Temporal Logic Tasks

    Author : Christos Verginis; Dimos Dimarogonas; Magnus Egerstedt; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multi-agent systems; cooperative manipulation; formation control; temporal logic; motion planning; adaptive control; funnel control; navigation; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Control and planning of multi-agent systems is an active and increasingly studied topic of research, with many practical applications such as rescue missions, security, surveillance, and transportation. This thesis addresses the planning and control of multi-agent systems under temporal logic tasks. READ MORE

  3. 18. Internal Control : A Study of the Concept and Themes of Internal Control

    Author : Olof Arwinge; Fredrik Nilsson; Nils-Göran Olve; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Economic Information Systems; Ekonomiska informationssystem;

    Abstract : This thesis studies the accounting and auditing approach to control where the concept of internal control has developed along with the theory and practice of accounting and auditing and its stated objectives. In this context, internal control has traditionally been regarded as a means of ensuring financial reporting quality as well as a way of preventing and detecting fraudulent activity. READ MORE

  4. 19. Adaptive and model-based control in laminar boundary-layer flows

    Author : Nicolò Fabbiane; Dan S. Henningson; Aimee S. Morgans; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flow control; Control theory; Optimal control; Adaptive control; Boundary-layer flow; Fluid dynamics; Plasma actuator; Surface hot-wire; Transition delay;

    Abstract : In boundary-layer flows it is possible to reduce the friction drag by breaking the path from laminar to turbulent state. In low turbulence environments, the laminar-to-turbulent transition is dominated by local flow instabilities – Tollmien-Schlichting (TS) waves – that exponentially grows while being con- vected by the flow and, eventually, lead to transition. 5. 20. Incremental and Hierarchical Deadlock-Free Control of Discrete Event Systems with Variables: A Symbolic and Inductive Approach

    Author : Mohammad Reza Shoaei; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Discrete event systems; IC3; large-scale systems; model checking; incremental control; supervisory control; hierarchical control; maximal permissiveness;

    Abstract : Today's industry trend towards agile product development cycles and the ambition to shorten the time-to-market, represents an extremely competitive marketplace. This has driven the industry to use very complex and highly flexible manufacturing systems. READ MORE
