21. Convex Duality Approach to Robust Stabilization of Uncertain Plants
Abstract : In this thesis we are study the problem of designing the controllers that are robust with respect to the parametric uncertainty. In Part I "The Rank-One Problem" we consider the class of systems with restriction that the structure of uncertainty is limited to a vector. READ MORE

22. An Isolated Integrated Charger for Electric or Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles
Abstract : For electric and hybrid vehicles using grid power to charge the battery, traction circuit components are not normally engaged during the charging time, so there is a possibility to use them in the charger circuit to have an on-board integrated charger. In this Licentiate thesis, an isolated high power integrated charger is proposed, designed and constructed based on a special ac machine with a double set of stator windings called motor/generator. 23. Design of Powder Core Motors
Abstract : The goal of the study presented in this thesis is to evaluate the advantages and drawbacks of using powder technology in the design of the iron core of small claw-pole electric motors. The use of soft magnetic composites (SMC) and compaction technology allows the creation of complex 3D iron cores. READ MORE

24. On Electrical Machine Topologies for Electric Vehicle Applications
Abstract : The deployment of electric vehicles is considered a viable solution towardsreducing the global greenhouse-gas emissions and fossil-fuel consumption. Inorder to produce highly efficient and economically feasible electrical drivesystems, the selection of suitable electric motor designs is a key step. READ MORE

25. Electrical Characterization of Partial Discharge Resistant Enamel Insulation
Abstract : Adjustable speed drives for rotating machines have become increasingly popular as they provide possibilities of smooth and accurate process control as well as for energy savings. In such systems, due to the fact that the voltage applied at terminals of motor windings is no longer purely sinusoidal but characterized by a high content of harmonics, the appearing electrical and thermal stresses yield premature failures of the winding insulation, mainly because of an increased partial discharge (PD) activity.
