21. Modelling and simulation of simultaneous forming and quenching
Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to develop and evaluate numerical methods for modelling and simulation of simultaneous forming and quenching within an integrated product development environment. Simultaneous forming and quenching, also referred to as hot-stamping, is a manufacturing process for high strength automotive components such as side impact protection beams. READ MORE

22. Optimal Pin Fin Heat Exchanger Surface
Abstract : This research presents the results of numerical study of heat transfer and pressure drop in a heat exchanger that is designed with different shape pin fins. The heat exchanger used for this research consists of a rectangular duct fitted with different shape pin fins, and is heated from the lower plate. READ MORE

23. X-Ray Diagnostics in Combustion - Study of Particle Formation in Flames Using Combined Small- and Wide-Angle X-Ray Scattering
Abstract : In the thesis work, two X-ray scattering techniques, small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS) were combined to study particle formation in-situ and non-intrusively in ethylene laboratory flames. Combining these two techniques enabled information concerning the size and concentration as well as the subnanometer structure of the nanoparticles within the 1–100 nm range there to be obtained. 24. Investigating the effect of extending powder particle size distribution of Ti-6Al-4V produced by powder bed fusion laser beam process : Influence of process parameters on material integrity
Abstract : This thesis focuses on the topic of PBF-LB applied to titanium alloys. Of allalloys, an α + β is chosen, named Ti-6Al-4V. The selection of this particular alloy is driven by its current widespread use in many industrial applications where high strength coupled with low density are both desirable properties. READ MORE

25. Electron beam-powder bed fusion of Alloy 718 : Effect of process parameters on microstructure evolution
Abstract : Additive manufacturing (AM) is the technology of building 3D parts through layer-by-layer addition of material. Of the different types of AM techniques, electron beam-powder bed fusion (EB-PBF) has been used in this study. EB-PBF can build parts by melting metallic powders using an electron beam as the energy source. READ MORE
