21. Striatal pathways in dyskinesia and dystonia
Abstract : Purposeful and well-coordinated movements depend on the control exerted by dopamine (DA) on the basal ganglia (BG) network. Accordingly, dysfunctions or lesions of the dopaminergic system in the BG can result in an overall poverty and slowness of movement, cardinal features of Parkinson´s disease (PD), or in dyskinesias, exaggerated and involuntary movements resulting from L-DOPA pharmacotherapy. 22. Neural correlates of skilled movement : functional mapping of the human brain with fMRI and PET
Abstract : Humans have unique abilities to perform certain types of skilled voluntary movements. In this thesis we examine the neural substrates of. (i) fine digit actions, in particular the control of fingertip forces during manipulation, and (ii) the coordination of voluntary movements of different limbs. READ MORE

23. Set-up based operator training method in automated manufacturing: A joint production engineering and competence theory approach
Abstract : Productivity improvement strategies such as increased automation, implementation of work cells and introduction of flexible work organisations have changed the content of operator work and the preconditions for training manufacturing competence. Traditional industrial training approaches have become increasingly obsolete. READ MORE

24. Multi-Agent Planning and Coordination Under Resource Constraints
Abstract : The research described in this thesis stems from ROBOCARE1, a three year research project aimed at developing software and robotic technology for providing intelligent support for elderly people. This thesis deals with two problems which have emerged in the course of the project’s development:Multi-agent coordination with scarce resources. READ MORE

25. Simulation of communicative behavior
Abstract : Developing tasks and organizations involves risk, and investments in planning, equipment, and training evoke expectations that may not be fulfilled. Therefore, it would be desirable to use an experimenting approach, and successively try and test new courses of action under realistic conditions. READ MORE
