21. The Josephson parametric oscillator - From microscopic studies to single-shot qubit readout
Abstract : Circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED) is a prominent platform for quantum information processing, in which microwave photons are confined into resonant cavities coupled to superconducting quantum bits (qubits). The large effective dipole moment of the qubit, in combination with the high energy density of the quasi 1-D resonator allow these systems to enter the so-called strong coupling regime. READ MORE

22. Transport properties of Bi2Se3 Topological Insulator Nanoribbon-Superconductor hybrid junctions
Abstract : In recent years, topological superconductivity and Majorana zero-energy modes have attracted vast interest due to their potential for topologically protected quantum information processing. Hybrid devices involving a conventional s-wave superconductor (S) in proximity to a 3D Topological Insulator (TI) are expected to provide a platform for emulating and studying these phenomena. 23. Parametrically pumped superconducting circuits
Abstract : In this licentiate thesis, I present the design, fabrication, and characterization of superconducting parametric resonators, for use in quantum information processing. These devices are quarter-wavelength coplanar waveguide resonators (~5 GHz), terminated at one end by a non-linear inductance provided by a SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device). 24. Some Aspects of Advanced Technologies and Signal Integrity Issues in High Frequency PCBs, with Emphasis on Planar Transmission Lines and RF/Microwave Filters
Abstract : The main focus of this thesis is placed on high frequency PCB signal Integrity Is-sues and RF/Microwave filters using EBG structures. From the signal Integrity aspect, two topics were mainly discussed. READ MORE

25. Novel RF MEMS Devices for W-Band Beam-Steering Front-Ends
Abstract : This thesis presents novel millimeter-wave microelectromechanical-systems (MEMS) components for W-band reconfigurable beam-steering front-ends. The proposed MEMS components are novel monocrystalline-silicon dielectric-block phase shifters, and substrate-integrated three-dimensional (3D) micromachined helical antennas designed for the nominal frequency of 75 GHz.
