  1. 1. Physicochemical studies of oxide zinc mineral flotation

    Author : Seyed Hamid Hosseini; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : At the present, zinc is produced mostly from zinc sulphide ores because the sulphides are easy to separate from the gangue and to concentrate by conventional flotation techniques but in the case of oxide zinc ores, the recovery of zinc is not enough high. The objective of the present study is to investigate the influence of different cationic, anionic and mixed collectors on the flotation of smithsonite mineral and an oxide zinc ore at various concentrations and pH values. 2. 2. Recycling process water in complex sulphide ore flotation

    Author : Fatai Kolawole Ikumapayi; Jaako Olavi Leppinen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineral Processing; Mineralteknik;

    Abstract : An approach to environmental sustainability and improved process economy in sulphide minerals production is recycling of process water in flotation of complex sulphide ores. However process water chemistry may be a critical issue to flotation efficiency. Process water discharged from sulphide flotation circuits are usually gypsum (CaSO4. READ MORE

  3. 3. Flotation selectivity, process modelling and simulation for a complex sulphide ore

    Author : Xuemin Yuan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : This thesis covers research with different methods on the same fine-grained complex sulphide ore - Petiknäs - from the Skellefte Field in Northern Sweden. Mineralogical research results demonstrate that the degree of liberation of galena, rather than the chemical factors under the current flotation conditions, is the dominant factor affecting Pb grade and recovery, since galena has the same flotation as chalcopyrite if having the same degree of liberation. 4. 4. An NMR synopsis of the coordination chemistry of copper(I) dithiophosphate clusters

    Author : Daniela Rusanova; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry of Interfaces; Gränsytors kemi;

    Abstract : The coordination chemistry of monovalent copper with O,O'- dialkyldithiophosphate chelating ligands (L = S2P(OR)2, R = alkyl) is presented by poly-nuclear clusters containing Cu4 (tetrahedral), Cu6 (trigonal antiprismatic) or Cu8 (cubic) cores where the ligands display a tri-metallic tri-connective coordination mode in the first two classes of structures (Cu4L4 and Cu6L6) and a tetra-metallic tetra-connective coordination pattern in the third class (Cu8L6(S)). In this work, the polycrystalline copper(I) O,O'-dialkyldithiophosphate (dtp) compounds - Cu4L4 (L = S2P(OiPr)2, Cu6L6 (L = S2P(OEt)2) and Cu8L6(S) (L = S2P(OR)2, R = Et, nPr, iPr, nBu, iBu and iAm) were synthesised and studied by 31P MAS and static 65Cu NMR spectroscopy. 5. 5. The chemistry of flotation activation and depression of iron-containing sulphide minerals

    Author : Xianghuai Wang; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : Thermodynamic calculations, electrochemical techniques, flotation and adsorption tests were used to study the physico-chemical principles involved in the flotation, activation and depression of the common ironcontaining sulphide minerals. Thermodynamic calculations on iron-xanthate-sulphur-water systems indicate that insoluble ferric hydroxo- xanthates can be obtained at a very low xanthate concentration in the neutral to weakly alkaline pH range, in which no liquid dixanthogen is formed.
